A brand new standalone, opposites attract, college hockey romance.
Chase Lovett. Star of my (unrequited) fantasies. Hottest guy on campus. Hockey god.
Too bad he has no idea who I am. Literally, I’m so invisible to him that he once sat on me in class.
No thanks to a fire in the dorms, he just became my accidental roommate. Did I mention the hotel room our university moved us to has only one bed? Not ideal.
Worse, I accidentally left “My Precious” fantasy fandom underwear hanging to dry in our shower. My actual nightmare.
My name is Cammie Lovelock and this might just be the worst, best thing that’s ever happened to me.
Helena Hunting is the author of The USA Today and NYT bestselling PUCKED Series. She lives on the outskirts of Toronto with her incredibly tolerant family and two moderately intolerant cats. She writes everything from romantic sports comedy to new adult angst.
this was fucking bananas. no relationship dev to speak of, beyond sexual chemistry.
and referring to her fuck hole as “my precious” because she writes LOTR poly smut? what a way to start my reading off this year. with the need for immediate eye bleach.
that being said…. i think this might appeal to college freshman. i can admit there is some semblance of realism when it comes to the characters thoughts and actions.
4.5 ⭐️ (rounded up)-this is a super quick read which feels like a spicy new adult take on hockey romance. Chase and Cammie are college freshman who experience instalove after an administrative mishap puts them squarely in the center of the “only one bed” predicament. Considering the setting, I think the instalove connection works here and both main characters are super endearing. The fact that the hockey-playing MMC gets just as into the FMCs LOTR obsession is one of the cutest plot points I’ve read all year. I also really appreciated the strong, non-toxic male friendships in this book and I hope that these lead into additional spinoffs set in this universe. I am grateful I was able to read this ARC copy!
Chase Lovett Wants Me is a college romance, and I was excited to read it since it was a quick read and a stand-alone. Plus, I love hockey romance! It’s a little too short with insufficient depth, but Helena Hunting always writes light and fun reads.

Ewww this book was so bad. These ARC readers.....they're lying out their azz 😂😂😂😂🤷 Maybe they did really like it? But that means they love when an author calls the clit "hot button". THEY LOVE IT. And yes, I have receipts 😂😂😂
Cammie is a quiet, introverted girl who has a huge crush on Chase, a ice hockey player who's hot of course. So hot, he doesn't realize that this quiet girl exists. He literally SITS on her in a class that they have together. They live in the SAME DORM on the SAME FLOOR and he doesn't even acknowledge her existence.
Its only when their dorm is evacuated and they get put in a hotel room together that he sees her 🙄🙄🙄 they get put in the same room together since her name is Cameron and they think she's a guy. its only when hes stuck in a room with her that he realizes shes hia kind of hot 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😐😐😐😐😐😐😐
then the horror starts. They all of a sudden start getting each othet off 🤔🤔🤔 She's a lord of the rings fan so instead of saying pussy, she calls it her precious like Gollum and he starts calling it that too 🤷🤷🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦 the clit is called the hot button and the conversations go like this. " would you like me to touch you?" "Okay". 😬😬😬😬😬 so so bad.......
He keeps hanging out with his friends and asks her to hang out with puck bunnies and shit and shes uncomfortable the whole time. And he just talks to other people and sges just standing there like a dipshit. 🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
This book is awful. But don't take it from me 🤷 you can always listen to the four/five star arc readers and find out for yourself

Opinion Breakdown The Good: The premise and potential.
The Not-So-Good: The ending. I didn't subscribe to get an extended epilogue because I expect closure in the book itself (pet peeve of mine for sure!)
The Bad: Listed below in overall opinion
Overall: This was (what I consider) fluffy smut. Hardly any depth, no feelings evoked, no angst/the conflict was very mild, the characters were meh, the connection felt instalove or at least instalust, and there was too much sex (gasp, I know 🫣). If that's all your jam -- great! Sadly, it's not mine. I was looking at the other book with these connected side characters (https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...) and I struggled with that one too. Bummer because some of this author's earlier works really worked for me...
Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Cammie and Chase's story. Cammie has been crushing on Chase since starting college with sharing a residence hall and classes with him. Only he doesn't even know who she is until disaster strikes their dorms and they have to share a hotel room, with one bed. They start a steamy affair that turns into Chase being pretty much obsessed with Cammie even though she isn't into being seen, and that is inevitable since he is the most popular freshman on campus. There is a lot of steam, a few funny moments, and some jealous girls...and they get a HFN ending.
Point Of View (POV): This alternated between Cammie and Chase's POV.
Overall Pace of Story: Good. I read it pretty quickly and I didn't skim.
Instalove: Kind of, though they don't express it until the end. I feel like the H was definitely experiencing some Instalove from the start.
H (Hero) rating: 3 stars. Chase. He was alright and I don't think we got very deep into his character.
h (heroine) rating: 3 stars. Cammie. She was also okay and not a super deep character.
Sadness level: Low, no tissues needed
Push/Pull: Not really
Heat level: Hot. They have some hot tension, chemistry, and scenes -- and a little bit too much for me since it seemed to take away from the story.
Descriptive sex: Yes
OW (Other Woman)/OM (Other Man) drama: No
Sex scene with OW or OM: No
Cheating: No
Separation: No
Possible Triggers: Not really other than
Closure: This ends in a alright place that I would call an HFN ending It definitely didn't have enough closure for me, but at this point I felt like it was par for the course.
Safety: This one should be Safe for most safety gang readers
This felt so wattpadd-y written :(. Very shallow, mid level spice with insta-love and almost no plot. Terribly disappointed that I cannot get back the hours I spent reading this.
I went into this one a little blind so I was pleasantly surprised to realize this is kind of like a next gen for the Toronto Terrors! This was the first book in the Tilton U universe. It was fast paced with a boy OBSESSED but actually the girl was obsessed first LOL. We get to meet none other than Chase Lovett who is the hockey god of campus. He lives in the same dorm as Cammie who is low key obsessed with him. She has been from a far for a while. When an incident happens to their dorm, they end up being assigned as roommates for the night at a hotel which is when the fun begins. I loved reading about our super extroverted knows everyone and charming Chase as he fumbles through trying to get a girl to not only pay attention to him but invest in him. And then we have Cammie who is trying SO hard to play it cool.
Cammie has had a crush on Chase since she first saw him and yet he doesn't know she exists. She is the shy one between her and her sister. She actually has a side hustle of writing fan fic which is what she loves. So when there is a fire alarm at her dorm that creates a situation where she is sharing a room with Chase for the night- all bets are off. This is her legit fantasy. When she realizes that he is into her- she decides to let loose. Have fun. There are no strings. And yet the next morning Chase seems to linger and want to get to know her. It seems that there is more of an actual connection than she would have thought. He introduces her to his friends. He wants her number. She questions pinching herself to make sure she isn't dreaming. But parties and this life aren't really for her. And so maybe this thing between them just needs to live in that hotel room. Chase has different thoughts though. He likes how different they are. He wants to try this thing out. He asks for her patience since he hasn't really ever had a passion besides hockey- the question is will she give it to him?
Chase is living the dream. He is working towards getting drafted in the NHL. He has great friends on the team. He is with a different girl almost every weekend which now that he thinks about is kind of getting boring and old. He wants to meet someone who he can actually have a conversation with. Which is what happens when he ends up in a room with Cammie. Who apparently lives in the same dorm as him. Cammie who is really cute and funny and seems to slowly open up the more they talk. When he wakes up and needs to take of business, she surprises him by being more outgoing and showing him what she wants. They are all over each other. They are enjoying each other's bodies and company. He finds himself not wanting to leave her or the hotel. He wants to introduce her to people and hang out. But he can sense her pulling back. It takes his teammate giving him some advice to realize he wants to date her. He is going to mess this up. He has never done this before but he wants to give it a go for her. Now he just has to convince her that even though they are different they can make this work!
I would definitely recommend this one for a fun, fast paced sports romance. I loved the connection to the Terror series. The side characters were great! We get to see Tally in a new light since she is going to school here. We also get to connect that Cammie is Essie's sister (Essie being Rix's BF from If You Hate Me). We get to meet Tristan's brother. It was just fun seeing this next level of hockey stars making their way up. I also LOVED the fact that Cammie writes LOTR fan fic between Arwen, Legolas and Aragorn- nice touch Helena!
Thank you to PenPal PR and Helena for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!
Cammie Lovelock is an introvert who wants to be brave, and put herself out there. She’s always been a silent observer who’s never fit in with the cool crowd. She likes books more than people, and is a bit quirky, but is hoping college will be a good chance for her to step out of her comfort zone. She has a massive crush on the hottest guy on campus. He lives on her same floor, but doesn’t know she exists. Just the sight of him makes her breathless every time. Chase Lovett just does it for her. When a fire in the dorms suddenly puts her in close proximity with her dream guy, they finally meet. She’s shocked when he doesn’t just notice her, but appears to be into her.
Chase Lovett just started his first year at Tilton University. He’s a popular hockey star for the Blaze hockey team. He has great friends, and is excited about freshman year. Then a fire in the common area of his building results in an issue with the sprinkler system causing them to have to stay at a hotel. When there’s a mistake made, he gets an unexpected roommate. He’s stuck for one night with a gorgeous stranger that catches his attention and captivates him. Will this mix up be a disaster, or turn out to be the best thing that’s ever happened to him?
Chase Lovett Wants Me by Helena Hunting is a standalone, forced proximity, accidental roommate, one bed, secret crush, nerd/jock, college, sports romance that takes place at Tilton University. With its connections to the Toronto Terror universe, it’s like a next generation spin off. I absolutely adored these characters, and devoured this book. It was just so cute, but also had plenty of spice and all the swoon. I couldn’t stop laughing and smiling while reading. It’s a heartwarming, sexy, opposites attract story full of humor, fantastic banter, and explosive chemistry. I really loved this couple, and need more from this world! <333
I liked this one, cute a light read and fast-paced. Both the Characters, Chase and Cammie are amazing and I loved their chemistry. Loved how the story turned out. If you love: 💕College Romance 💕Lord Of The Rings References 💕Forced Proximity 💕he Falls First He Falls Harder 💕Hockey Romance

Thank you @penpalpr and @helenahunting for the ARC!
Leave it to Helena Hunting to write a brand new hockey romance and of COURSE, make it a bomb one 🤩 Chase Lovett Wants Me is a college hockey romance between a super outgoing hockey god and a wallflower of a girl, who writes the spiciest MFM LoTR fanfic in her spare time 😆. No one notices Cammie in the couple months she started college… literally… even her biggest crush, Chase once sat on her in class and didn’t even notice! Until a fire in the dorms sends all the students to a nearby hotel until damages are repaired and she ends up rooming (the curse and blessing of a neutral first name, Cameron!) with none other than Chase… and there is only one bed 🤭. This book was stinking cute and I loved how much of a green flag Chase was! He wasn’t the stereotypical college fboy. He was attentive and even though he was naive at times and didn’t handle situations the right way, he ALWAYS wanted to talk things out and learn to do better! COMMUNICATION IS HOT, BABY 😍. He supported her dreams, stood behind her every decision and let her fight her own battles, and in this way gave her the space to grow into her own. And Cammie was such a cool character, with her hot fanfic, her LotR obsession and her black karate belt! I could 100% understand and sympathise with her struggles when she was thrust in uncharted territory situations. I absolutely LOVED her relationship with her big sister Essie, and how the Toronto Terror characters and the ones in this book were connected in one way or another! All the moments and new information we got about Tally has me even more feral for her book than I already was 🤭. I am also ridiculously invested in Brody’s story and what happened between him and Enid 🥹 Fingers crossed theirs is the next book in this series 🤞🏻
Thank you to Helena Hunting and her team for the eARC 🫶🏻🩷
DNF'd at 21%. My precious????!!! No. Absolutely not. That was so incredibly cringe that my own precious shriveled up and died. The secondhand embarrassment that overtook me...
💚This story is easily Helena’s best feel-good romance to date. Well, I shouldn’t be so definitive in my assertion because I have #oldpeople brain and there might be others I can’t think of right now, but I feel that statement to my soul, so let’s go with it.
📚Chase Lovett is gonna melt you kids. I was stunned stupid at his character. This guy is in his early 20s with a soul of a grown man. Does that make sense? And I don’t mean that to mean the whole “grumpy” thing, because he was anything but. And don’t even get me started on Cammie! This chic had this huge personality inside her nerdy little package, and I just wanted to scoop her up and keep her for myself. Okay, that may be creepy. LOL Their meet-cute was genius and the development of their story from that moment was a thing of beauty. I swooned and I laughed and I cried and then I laughed again and again and then I swooned some more! But it gets better … the dramatics in the story were legit! Like everything that you’d expect to be happening around young adults such as this group was happening but it was happening in a way where it belonged. It was not over the top or overly dramatized.
🎧I listened to this story before I read it, and I gave myself a lot of time between the two formats but there’s a clear winner for me with this one and that’s the audiobook. I mean the story is phenomenal so you will not go wrong by reading it, but if audio is your thing, this is a huge win for you! Jason Clarke & CJ Bloom performed this story duet style like their life depended on it. Seriously. I was blown away at how smooth the entire audio experience was because it was an ALC. I never expect ALCs to be flawless, but here we are. They were beautiful as a team and as their individual characters. Jason captured Chase’s #oldsoul (lol) perfectly and CJ captured Cammie’s feisty little nerd self like a pro. GAH, I LOVE EVERYONE INVOLVED IN THIS EXPERIENCE!
📣HUGE shout out to both Helena and Sarah for allowing me the privilege of both listening, via an ALC, and reading, via an ARC, this story. It will stay with me for a long time!
There’s nothing quite like ending the year with a literal banger.
Chase and Cammie’s story was so fun! Sweet/nerdy girl and the hot hockey player hit it off immediately and he will stop at nothing for Cammie to be his.
I’m such a huge fan of Helena’s writing!! If you’ve never read a book of hers before you definitely have to go in knowing that her style is fun, fast paced, and lots of spice!!😏🔥
I had the best time reading this book!! The Lord Of The Rings Fanfic moments were surprisingly funny and HOT!! Calling her (you know what) “my precious” has my lolling. The MCs are freshman in college and I really enjoyed how well she wrote the dialogue between them, you get the immaturity but with how serious the love between them is!
If you’re looking for a very fast paced, college romance this is definitely your book! Chase and Cammies story will not disappoint ❤️
If you love..

Chase Lovett Wants Me was exactly what I needed to break out of my mini reading slump! This spicy hockey novella had the perfect mix of steam, charm, and fast-paced romance to keep me hooked from start to finish. Chase was the perfect mix of swoon-worthy and determined, making the chemistry between him and the heroine absolutely addictive.
This was my first read by Helen Hunt, and I’m already excited to check out more of her work. If you’re looking for a quick, steamy sports romance that doesn’t hold back, this one is definitely worth picking up!
Essentially a girl lusting after a guy that has no idea who she is 😓. Cringy conversations especially since the h gets really nervous with the H around. Silly plot…
Chase Lovett Wants Me is the first book in the new Tilton U series and it is so good! I read it in two days while switching back and forth between the ebook and audiobook because I could not put it down. It’s my first fave of 2025!
Cammie has been crushing on Chase, the hockey stud at Tilton University, since the first time she laid eyes on him. However, she is a shy introvert who keeps to herself so making a move is totally off the table. Chase hasn’t even looked her way. That all changes when a fire in the dorm sends the students to a hotel down the street. When Chase and Cammie are put together in the same hotel room thanks to Cammie’s gender neutral name, Cameron, things change. That one night is all that’s needed for Chase’s eyes to be opened.
OMG, I love this story!! It’s fun, fresh, fast paced, and totally steamy. And Cammie and Chase?? I can’t get enough of this couple. I loved that Cammie is shy to the outside world but is totally outgoing and spices things up in her LoTR fanfic. Chase is the hockey player all the girls swoon over and while all those girls throw themselves at him, Cammie is the opposite. That’s one of the reasons why I loved the fact that once Chase noticed Cammie, he was a goner. He was all in and wasn’t going to let anyone get in the way.
They haven’t had the same experiences when it comes to college life so navigating this new relationship has a learning curve. They explore each other and realize just what they have been missing. They have fun and really connect. I loved being there as they got to know each other and they really support one another. Cammie steps out of her comfort zone and learns more about hockey and Chase is there for Cammie when she needs him most.
I absolutely loved the secondary characters, especially the ones we’ve met in the Toronto Terror series. Seeing this crew again and their connections to Cammie and Chase was wonderful! I can’t wait for more from the Tilton U series!!
"She has the kind of face you want to keep looking at because it's not like anyone else's."
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🌶️🌶️🌶️
💚College Hockey 💚Accidental Roommates 💚Opposites Attract 💚Only One Bed 💚Virgin Heroine
When I tell you that this is one of my favorite reads of 2024, I am absolutely dead serious. Chase is like the perfect book boyfriend and I will be thinking about him for a very long time. Cammie is such an adorable character, who we have met in the Toronto Terror series, and I just love her attitude. And she writes fanfic so I immediately loved her.
Cammie Lovelock has always kept to herself. She's a "get up, go to class, write fanfiction, go to sleep" kind of girl. Chase Lovett is a Tilton U hockey god that has a flock of girls always near, just hoping the chance of one night with him. Cammie always notices Chase, I mean they live on the same floor and he's absolutely gorgeous. When an accidental dorm fire ends in the residents staying a hotel, Cammie and Chase are accidental placed as roommates. The close quarters has Cammie a little "heightened" and Chase realizing that this amazing girl has always been around. Roommates, one bed, and the discovery of her smutty fanfic writing leads to a moment between the two that they can never forget.
Chase and Cammie's chemistry is off the charts hot. Cammie is usually a fairly shy girl, except when she is updating her spicy LotR fanfic online. Then comes in Chase, who is the complete opposite. He's known and adored by everyone and not afraid to go for what he wants. The opposite characters come together in a way that opens both of them up to new emotions and new experiences.
They are just so hot together. I mean, he offers to help her do "research"(😉) for her fanfic updates. All while also becoming obsessed with her writing and excited when she publishes a new chapter. He becomes obsessed with her overall and it doesn't take much. It's so cute, fun, funny, spicy, and emotional. While we see Chase and Cammie's relationship progressing, we also see how Cammie is dealing with outside opinions. If you've read hockey romance before, you know how the "puck bunnies" can be BRUTAL. But Cammie is a badass and she knows how to hold her ground and protect who/what she loves.
I love this book and finished in a matter of hours. Helena Hunting can do no wrong. It's a super quick read and I cannot wait for the rest of the world to love Cammie and Chase like I do.
"Sometimes we have to choose to live life scared, or we’re not really living it at all." This was my first Helena Hunting book, and boy, did I have fun! Including laughing out loud in bed at three in the morning. I needed this book!
"She pauses, head turning, chin tipping up. Gray eyes lift to meet mine. I feel her gaze like a shot of tequila to my soul. And other parts." Cammie and Chase live in the same dorm in college. She’s definitely noticed him; he’s absolutely oblivious to her. She’s a nerd and a major LOTR fan (a girl after my own heart!); he’s a hockey player. She’s a homebody who prefers to be by herself; he’s the life of the party, constantly surrounded by friends.
Opposites? Yes, I think we might call them that.
"There’s literally nothing to her and she just flipped me over her shoulder. I’m six-four and two hundred pounds. There’s nothing quite as sexy as a tiny woman who can kick ass." However, Chase is about to be very aware of Cammie. When there’s a fire in their dorm and they’re relocated to a hotel for the night, an administrative error places them in the same room. And, all of a sudden, all the differences between them don’t really matter anymore. I. Loved. It. Especially since Cammie may be quiet, but she goes after what she wants!
"How fucking oblivious am I that I completely overlooked her until last week? How many times have I walked right by her? How many opportunities have I missed to walk with her to class?" After their one night, they were probably supposed to go back to their normal lives. But that’s just not possible. All of a sudden, Chase is the one who can’t let go. He’s the one who definitely wants more. He introduces her to his friends. He shows her that they’re more than that one night they spent together. And while Cammie is wary of all of it, he’s about to prove to her that opposites do attract and that he really does want her.
"I like you. I missed you. And the idea of someone else touching your precious when I want it to be mine makes me unhappy." The physical aspect is just one thing, but I loved how they explored each other unabashedly. I loved how they were comfortable with each other. And the "precious" bits… Gah, that was so well written it makes me want to start laughing again. As a writer myself, the fact that he wants to read (and enact) some of the LOTR fanfic she writes… Yeah, that was pretty perfect to me.
"I want to watch movies and study and hang out with Cammie while she writes a new chapter as much as I want to feel her lips on mine. I want her to be my person, and I want to be hers." I loved the way he fell for her. I don’t think he realized he was all in until he was. And the way it progresses… Let’s just say it really is a feel-good book, where the nerdy girl gets the jock and the mean girls get put in their places. It was funny and sweet and swoony and heartwarming and I want to live inside its pages whenever I’m having a bad day.
"You are special. So special. You’re the only girl I’ve ever felt this way about." There’s no angst. No third-act breakup. It’s a fast-paced story and it makes sense for both of them, in my opinion. It is an "easy" story, but there were some more emotional moments for me. Especially some I could relate to.
"I’ll be her forever Aragorn and she’ll be my forever Arwen. And we’ll write our own story, one kiss, one smile, one chapter at a time." If you’re having a bad day, pick up this book. Let Cammie and Chase help you through it. Hopefully, you’ll feel the way I did when I was done—like something was right with the world.
I'm always so excited to see new books...and series from Helena, so I was thrilled when I first heard about CHASE LOVETT WANTS ME and the more that I heard about it, the more excited I became--only one bed, he's obsessed with her...LOTR Fanfic Queen...colour me intrigued, and extremely on board...and now that I've read it I can honestly say that my only complaint was that I wasn't ready to say goodbye to these characters yet! I would've happily read at least one hundred (and more) pages of Cammie and Chase! Luckily, this is just the start of a new series, so we will be seeing these two (and their fabulous friends) sometime soon and I can't wait!
So, surprise, surprise...I loved this book! I thought that CHASE LOVETT WANTS ME was absolutely delightful! The banter was so fun and I loved seeing Cammie and Chase fall for each other! They were both so sweet and I loved how they openly communicated with each other...and the way they were so smitten and down bad for each other was wonderful. It was so sweet seeing Chase do his best to be the best boyfriend he could be for Cammie, and it was lovely to see Cammie trying to get out of her shell a bit more for Chase...but not too much because that boy loves her exactly as she is. Their love was so sweet, and the story was such a lovely refreshing read--it was seriously PERFECT to start the year off with.
Overall, I thought that CHASE LOVETT WANTS ME was wonderful and I loved it, so so much! I honestly only wish it could've been a bit longer, but thankfully it's part of a series, which means my happy heart will be getting more of Cammie and Chase in the future. I’m definitely already looking forward to seeing more of the group of friends and loved seeing the little hints about what Helena has planned for future books--I can't wait to see all of the stories unfold! Highly recommend this one if you're looking for a sweet, but fairly spicy romance where two wonderful young people find love...and someone who loves them for exactly who they are for the first time! You'll especially love it if you're a fan of Helena's other books, like sports romance, or have any sort of interest in fanfiction or Lord of the Rings. ;)
My first time reading a Helena Hunting novel and probably my last.
Would be the right book if you read Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell but wished it was much spicier and included elements of a hockey romance.
I was drawn in by the one bed trope as Cammie and Chase are mistakenly assigned as emergency roommates due to a fire in the dorms. Suspension of disbelief required.
I was put off by the insta lust/ love and basic stalker vibes of it all. The main characters are freshman in college and the writing was definitely geared towards that age demographic. I felt like the story overall lacked plot and character development.
Thank you to Pen Pal PR for an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
Whispersync For Voice Ready? Yes. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Plot In A Sentence:
One dorm fire, one hotel room, with only one bed, one, persistent hockey player and one book girl who write Lord Of The Rings fanfic. A recipe for... 🫣🫠🥵 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Helena Hunting is the queen of flirty, feel-good romances with just the right mix of humour, heart, and heat. I am in love with the Toronto Terror universe that she created, so this book is another win for me! If you love romance that makes you swoon and snort-laugh, this book has got you covered. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Narrator Chemistry:
Two of my absolute favourite narrators. Jason Clarke and CJ Bloom nail this one. Jason makes Chase sound exactly like the smooth-talking, secretly-soft jock he is, while CJ delivers Cammie’s inner monologue with just the right mix of sass and social anxiety. Their back-and-forth makes every interaction pop, and it's just so 👏 freaking 👏 good 👏 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Feels:
Laughter: 😂 3.5/5 the awkward meeting and first night that they have to share a room together had me in stitches.
Swooniness: 🫠 5/5 the way Chase is so interested in HER. His genuine interest in Cammie + his efforts to understand her world is =100% swoon.
Tear Flow Rate: 😭 0/5 unless you cry when books are too cute, you’re safe. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ About The Main Characters:
Cammie Lovelock: Introverted, bookish, fanfic author who has a black belt. Then is all of a sudden sharing a room (and a bed) with the guy she’s been low-key crushing on for years.
Chase Lovett: As the university hockey star, Chase is confident and sociable. His growing interest in Cammie reveals a more thoughtful and considerate side, as he becomes intrigued by her unique passions. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Sizzle Scale:
Scorching 🔥 4/5 they are definitely not shy! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Tiff Take:
Would I recommend it? Absolutely. It’s the perfect mix of cute, flirty, swoony, funny and “why am I grinning like this?”
Perfect For Fans Of These Tropes: Forced proximity (one bed, obviously). Hockey romance. Opposites attract. He's obsessed with her. Lord of the Rings fanfic 🤭
The story was silly to me, the secondary characters were so odd- all just wise old owls with perfect advice and no personality. I hate not finishing a book, so I’m grateful this was short. A pet peeve of mine is when all the characters are ✨magically ✨ related to each other in some way. It’s really lazy writing. I think the thing I like the most is some of the details about the FMC, she had interests and a relative amount of depth so I appreciate that. This story/author isn’t for me but it may be for you if you’re looking for a quick, low angst, syrupy sweet, consent heavy romance.
