Once Upon A Pack (Royalverse Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars 1,126 ratings

Once upon a time?

Um, no. Because that’s how fairytales start and Ivy Addison is no princess. In fact, she’s very happy being an absolute nobody.
She doesn’t have glass slippers or a trust fund or “graces”—and she’s pretty sure she doesn't need rescuing. She also most
definitely isn’t overworked as the housekeeper for a rowdy pack of royals... and she certainly has no feelings for any of them.

Well, aside from Asher, the Crown Prince and star of all her mortifying dreams. Or Sebastian, the oh-so-charming baron who always has a smile just for her. And Dair, the dangerous duke with all sorts of bad ideas in his eyes.
Turns out, there’s a reason she can’t stay away.
But when these famously eligible men find out their maid is their mate

Can they convince Ivy to believe in happily ever after?

I almost didn’t…the first part of this book was hard to take. It wasn’t the bullying, which they definitely groveled, it was the alpha’s descriptions of sex with other people. I know it’s not cheating, but it was just unnecessary to the storyline. The same wasn’t applied to Ivy…so wtf? It’s all explained and I get some of it though I don’t think that’s the strongest message the author intended, but for me, it stands out the most.I honestly didn’t realize that this was a fairytale retelling until about 3/4 of the way through. And yes, I did get through the first part and I am glad I did. I got the beautiful story that I have come to expect from the author. Told from all POV. Each of her alpha’s had unique pasts and the author spent time on each one to give the reader a great understanding of each. I would definitely recommend and reread this book again.

For me, after finding Ari Wright with her MVP omegaverse series, preordering and immediately binge reading the new Royalverse “Once Upon A Pack” was an automatic inner yes response. This first story is a fun, engaging adventure of fairytale ambience. I laughed and swooned, and loved the escape of mild drama, low angst, and vibrantly beautiful world building. The journey of pack growth and happy-ever-after is not simple, but the realistic personal concerns and trauma are handled with kindness and empathy. I thoroughly adore Ari Wright’s omegaverse style in general, because she brings the heat and possessive sweetness that are typical of the genre but leaves out the heavy handed angst that can be overwhelming if not written with precision. This romance is more cozy than her MVP series; and I love how we meet a wide range of new characters (both human and animal). Hopefully we see some crossover in this Royalverse as the series continues, and there could not be a better beginning than this “Once Upon A Pack”!

Oh I just love Ari's work. It is always so fun and full of sweetness without being a story that makes me anxious with too much angst. I absolutely loved the Cinderella twist on this. All the characters were relatable and so fun to get to know. There were minor second chance, friends to lovers and enemies to lovers tropes going on here between the three MMCs and the FMC.
I truly adore this and cannot wait for the world to expand!!

I absolutely LOVED this book. Everything about it sucked me in and I just devoured the book.

The fairytale reimagining was fun, I loved the similarities and the things that were changed. And the little Easter eggs and also hints of things to come!

The characters were all likeable and I fell in love with them. Each of the men had their own personalities, and I felt like they all got equal attention, even with Asher having a past with Ivy. I hate uneven why chooses and I did not get that in this story.

Ivy was kind and sweet and adorable. I liked her character and watching her develop and fall for each MMC.

The spice was delicious! Ugh. SO GOOD. So many men coming in their pants and I ATE IT UP.

I liked that there was no third act breakup, and that it is minimal drama. The story was just super cute and sweet, and swoony!

I can already tell this series is gonna be a top series for me just like Ari's MVP series. And now I'm gonna be drooling waiting for the next one!

This was such a fun & creative OV retelling of Cinderella! The characters were likable from the very start & Ivy was the perfect FMC. Her past & hardships made the HEA that much sweeter. Overall this was a great & unique OV that I really enjoyed

This story resonated with me profoundly, allowing me to connect deeply with each character. Despite the numerous challenges they faced, they remained fundamentally good people 💖 . Their actions, though sometimes harsh or questionable, always stemmed from the heart and their best intentions.

Ari is the only author who can make me cry during a smut scene 😭🔥 in the bond phase of the omega heat. Her descriptions of each bond and emotion with the pack members are exquisite, warm, and poetic 📖✨️ . I always end up in tears, moved by her writing.

    Some of my favourite notes:

She still sees me in here . Underneath it all . It will be the same for her , I realize . No matter where this takes us — if she’s our queen , the mother of our children , producing heirs for an entire kingdom … She will always be Ivy to me . The girl spinning circles in the rain and wishing on stars . Twined around my heart . Part of me . Is it the same for her ? If it is , I never want her to lose that version of me . I want her to keep him . Me . Forever .

    My voice is hoarse when I finally manage , “ Will you make sure I don’t forget ? Who I really am ? ” Her gaze shimmers . “ I’ll remind you , ” she promises . “ Every chance I get . ”

“ I have loved you since the day I met you . And I think you may be the only person in the world who’s ever known me well enough to love me back . So , even though I don’t deserve it , I hope , one day , you will . ”

A tether appears , glowing like the sun behind the clouds . Soft and ethereal . Waiting for me . All this time , he’s been waiting for me . I feel it now . Our rope isn’t connected yet , but even without the bridge between us , I know . This piece of him ? It was only ever mine.

Once Upon a Pack is a sweet story that will put a smile on your face at the end.

Ivy and Asher have history with each other however being the future King Asher had to step aside and leave Ivy even though he held deep feelings for her.

After Ivy’s mother dies she is forced to work at the summer palace where Asher and his 2 pack mates find themselves interviewing future omegas to be their future mate.

We are lead to believe that Ivy is a beta however it’s later revealed that her aunt was poisoning her to suppress her omega. Thankfully enough of Ivy’s omega breaks through to become visible to the 3 men. From there the prince, duke and lord do everything to convince Ivy that she belongs with them.

How do I say this without it sounding insulting because it’s meant in a good way….this book was cute, but not deep. It had a ton of potential and I loved all the characters, but some gave superficial level get to know yous. Meaning they could have had a lot more depth. I was waiting for something more with her aunt and cousins. Even her best alpha friend. I will say the FMC is super naive to so much which seems shocking when she also seemed to be the sole bread winner for her family. The story seemed Cinderella-ish, but just didn’t come full circle to me. The multiple POVs is always a joy to have in a book so thank you for that!
