Love on the Edge Kindle Edition
Valeria Blaze
The Olympics aren’t just my dream—they’re my obsession. Every jump, every spin, every sacrifice has been for one goal: gold. I don’t drink. I don’t date. And I sure as hell don’t make reckless decisions.
Until him.
Running into Ethan Crosse—the rink’s rugged, maddeningly handsome new maintenance man—wasn’t part of the plan. He’s gruff, complicated, and far too good at making me forget the walls I’ve built to protect myself. One impulsive night should have been enough to get him out of my system.
But now he’s everywhere.
I should be focusing on skating, but the closer we get, the harder it is to keep my walls from crumbling. He’s everything I don’t have time for. But he might be the one thing I can’t let go.
Ethan Crosse
I’ve learned to live for two things: my daughter and my family. When my wife walked out, she left more than a broken marriage—she left bills, responsibility, and the life we’d built together. Taking on a second job at the rink was a way to keep us afloat, even if it meant sleepless nights and long days.
Then I ran into her.
Valeria Blaze is fire and ice all wrapped up in a dangerous package. One night with her wasn’t enough, but I can’t risk letting her into my messy world. Not when she’s focused on something bigger than me. Not when I’m still picking up the pieces of my life.
But the more I try to push her away, the closer we get. Now I’m not sure if I’m ready to risk it all for her—or if I even have a choice.

In Love on the Edge, Sara McClaflin introduces us to Ethan and Valeria, two young adults who are laser-focused on their own lives and definitely not looking for love—until they meet each other.
I found both main characters easy to connect with, much like the instant chemistry they share. Ethan and Valeria have their hands full—she's a dedicated ice skater, and he's juggling life with his young daughter amidst a messy divorce. When they share one passionate night together, neither of them expects it to lead to anything more. But that one night turns into their lives becoming completely intertwined, with Ethan working at the rink and being the brother of Valeria’s friend. Suddenly, he's everywhere she turns, all while she’s trying to stay focused on her upcoming national competition.
Things get pretty messy, to say the least, and at just 150 pages, I wasn’t sure how the author would pull it off—but she absolutely did. We get a full story of Ethan and Valeria, along with a peek into their lives with family and friends. Love on the Edge reads like a standalone, with a sweet little epilogue to wrap things up.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 8, 2025I did not expect to feel so many emotions in the time it took to read 150 pages. Valeria battles herself and her need for control until Ethan and his daughter, CC show her there's more to live for than the ice.
Meanwhile, she stands by them when CC's mother tries to upend their lives.
I will say, if you are triggered by child abandonment by the mother, this one is tough to get through.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 2, 2025This is a quick read with a perfect story. Ethan is a soon to be single father who is doing the best he can. His wife left to follow a dream and now he needs to follow his…and it might involve an ice skater. Figure skater Valeria has big dreams…like Olympic medal big dreams. When Ethan literally comes crashing into her life she doesn’t know what to do with him. This is a quick paced read with a great story. This story is a little emotional, a lot of fun with a pinch of perfect chemistry. The characters truly belong together…they just needed to jump through a few obstacles to get there. I really enjoyed this book and I look forward to reading more books by this author.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 4, 2025This is a cute, quick novella about a figure skater training for the Olympics and falling in love with a single dad. I really enjoyed the sweetness and chemistry between the two lead characters. Highly recommend.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 10, 2025This is the first story in a new series and this is Ethan and Valeria’s story.
Valeria is a skater whose dream is to skate at the Olympics, while Ethan is a divorced single dad to his daughter, and after his wife left leaving bills and responsibilities in her wake, he takes at second job as the maintenance man at the rink to make ends meet. There is an instant attraction between these two and a 1-night stand turns into more.
This is a good story which is a quick read, with family, friendships, emotions, determination, sacrifices, challenges, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an enjoyable, workplace romance.
I look forward to reading more from this author whose work I recommend.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 15, 2025Arc read. I really enjoyed this book. It was a quick, cute story of a career/goal focused woman who falls for the single dad.
I feel that the characters were very relatable. Valeria was raised with 2 parent that weren’t really there for her, so it would be understandable for her to be closed off and a runner. Whereas, Ethan was raised completely opposite where he could talk to his family and he learned valuable lessons from them. In the end they balance each other out and help each other.
