I never meant to run away—I just needed to breathe. To escape the life my parents had meticulously planned for the law degree, the perfect fiancé, the country club future. So when I met a boy on fall break who promised adventure, I jumped in an RV with him and never looked back.
But it didn’t last. I found myself stranded at a campground with nothing but my grandmother’s ring. Pawning it was the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but staying in Sandcastle Cove? That was easy. The island felt more like home than Boston ever did.
And then there’s Anson. He’s flirty, a little reckless, and entirely too charming—but he sees me, the real me, in a way no one else ever has.
For the first time, I’m building a life I truly love. However, just when I start to feel settled, my past comes to drag me back. Now I have to decide—do I go back to the girl they raised me to be or fight for the woman I’m becoming?

She has been an avid reader from a young age and you could always find her with her nose in a book completely enthralled in an adventure. With the support of her husband and family, in 2018, she decided to finally give a voice to the stories in her head and her debut novel, Both of Me was born. Tabby is on an adventure. She left her old life behind and began chasing her dreams. She’s creative, independent, smart and has finally found peace to be who she is and always has been.
Anson is finally putting down roots. He’s over his old ways that was filled with fishing, drinking and girls. He doesn’t know it yet, but he’s been chasing his own dreams.
These two have the same appreciation of old things and see the beauty in what was and what can become.
I absolutely adored Anson and Tabby’s journey from friendship to soulmates. Their foundation is as solid as a heritage cottage. These two have passion and chemistry, you feel the bond, understanding and love through the words in the papers and the actions of the characters.
It’s a sweet friend’s to lovers story.
I absolutely love Amber Kelly’s writing. She is always able to pull me in with her characters and make me love them with their journey. The writing flows seamlessly that you just can’t help but escape into her books, especially this one. Although, I do recommend reading it at sunset and in place where you can hear the waves.
5 Star Review Chasing Sunsets (Sandcastle Cove # 5) by Amber Kelly
I enjoy my visits to Sandcastle Cove for Anson and Tabby’s story. I enjoy small town romance and Amber Kelly has an affinity for writing it.
Chasing Sunsets is a heartwarming story of finding oneself and knowing that your happily ever after is out there; it was an emotional rollercoaster on occasion.
I enjoyed Tabby’s growth throughout the development of their relationship a
Ending up in a town, that you thought was going to be a short stop in a journey of adventures. Finding your own way when you have to and finding you like yourself and your life you are making. Meeting new people, a new fellow, and possible ❤️, giving yourself a chance to grow as a person. Then your parents show up demanding you return home, them and their demands being the reason you left to begin with. Beautiful story.
Oh my! Pure sweetness is what I just read. This book is such a low stakes/angst of a romance that really encapsulated everything you could want in a short and sweet read. Anson and Tabby were to die for from the moment they meet to the very end. Both of them brought of the lighter and freer sides in one another that was simply waiting to be sparked.
Tabby is the most precious! This poor girl is so young and just wanting to make her own way in life which she starts to due when she unexpectedly finds herself in Sandcastle Cove permanently. Tabby does not hesitate for one second before she starts building her life up from the ground in the quaint town which is such a dream she never saw herself having. She finds herself once she is able to find the joy in the what makes her happy which in turn made me happy as a reader.
Anson, oh man, what a quiet soul with so much love to give. The way he is so enthralled by Tabby from the first time they meet shows the significance of that one small interaction. For them to be reunited some time later definitely tells you it was not just a one off thing. This man truly changes his ways when Tabby comes into his life for the better for both of them but most importantly himself.
Sandcastle Cove is mostly definitely one of my favorite fictional small coastal towns! I have enjoyed each couple and book since the beginning so much and this was no disappointment. Low angst and a lovable friend group...sign me up every single time.
Tropes - small coastal town - age gap - he falls first - friends to lovers
This might just be my new favorite Amber Kelly book/couple. I just loved Anson and Tabby's story. And of course, seeing all the couples from the previous stories is an added bonus. I really love this series, and it always makes me want to move to the beach.
Tabby left her home and life in Boston behind because it just wasn't the life that she wanted. So, she left and went on an adventure. Which turned out to change sooner than she realized when the man she left with from a meditation retreat decided to just leave her in Sandcastle Cove. But Tabby was determined to make it on her own and man did she thrive. I absolutely loved how strong and resilient she was. She really made her little RV her home and put down roots in more ways than one.
Anson was happy with his current lifestyle. But when Tabby walks into his mother's jewelry shop, she left an impression on him that he just can't forget. Over time, they run into each other more and Tabby starts to slowly steal Anson's heart. I loved seeing Anson become a relationship guy and put down his own roots with Tabby. He was so supportive of her and her many talents that she had. His friends and family opened their hearts to Tabby as well.
I also loved that Tabby's parents finally heard her and understood what she wanted out of life. This was just a wonderful story, and I couldn't love it more.
Amber Kelly's Chasing Sunsets, the fifth book in the Sandcastle Cove series, is a heartfelt journey of self-discovery, love, and the courage to forge one's own path The story follows FMC Tabby who escapes the life meticulously planned by her parents—a prestigious law degree, a perfect fiancé, and a country club future—to seek freedom and authenticity. Her spontaneous adventure leads her to Sandcastle Cove, where she finds herself stranded with nothing but her grandmother's ring. Pawning it is a painful decision, but the town's warmth and the connection she feels make staying an easy choice Enter MMC Anson, a charming and slightly reckless local who sees her for who she truly is. Their chemistry is undeniable, and as their relationship deepens, Tabby begins to build a life she genuinely loves. However, when her past resurfaces, Tabby is faced with a pivotal decision: return to the life she left behind or fight for the woman she's becoming. The portrayal of small-town life is vivid and inviting, making Sandcastle Cove feel like a character in its own right. The narrative is enriched by well-developed characters, emotional depth, and a romance that feels both authentic and compelling. Chasing Sunsets is a beautifully crafted tale that will resonate with anyone who's ever dared to chase their own version of happiness.
This is one of the sweetest stories I have ever read. Amber Kelly is a new author to me but this won't be my last read from her.
Tabby has left her home and has moved on to live her life her own way. She has met someone and they moved out to a beach. She wakes up and finds he has left her and taken her money. In her desperate attempt to find money to pay her way she goes to a jewelry store to try to sell her grandmother's old jewelry. There she meets Anson who is helping his mom with the store. He tries to tell her that the store is not a pawn shop but realizes she needs help. He then buys a ring and gives her the money she needs.
Tabby is one of the best lead heroines I have come across. Her tenacity and independence are very commendable. She doesn't want to rely on anyone for help. Anson becomes her friend but he enjoys being around her. They had amazing chemistry. Tabby didn't know she needed someone strong like Anson until he came along.
If you are looking for a great story and small town romance you have to check this out. Very enjoyable and heartwarming. I look forward to more from this author.
Thanks to this author and Wordsmith Publicity for the opportunity to read this story early. This is my honest review.
I loved being back in Sandcastle Cove with everyone, but Anson and Tabby are my all-time favourite couple. Chasing Sunsets is an emotionally charged, stranger/friends-to-lovers romance that will pull on your heartstrings. Ms. Kelly pulled you in with her storylines, characters, and brilliant writing style. Right from the start, I knew I was going to imagine I was right there with the characters in Sandcastle Cove. The emotions that flowed throughout the story had me wanting to hug Tabby and tell Anason not to give up. Tabby is a strong and independent woman who is running from her past and her family. Finding Sandcastle Cove was heaven, or so she thought. Things changed and in walks Anson, a sexy, wonderful and caring man who, once he saw Tabby, his outlook on life and one-night stands changed. The two of them had this relationship or should I say friendship I feel everyone would love to have. Time together and the flirting with innocent touches caused the sparks to ignite and the friendship that started turned into something so much more. I have to say that this series has been such a joy to read and each book gives us a couple who are ways to care for but Anson and Tabby are at the top of the list for most liked couples at Sandcastle Cove.
I adored this book! From the start of the book when Anson & Tabby meet it had me smiling from ear to ear because you just know that these two are meant to be together but you just have to wait and watch them find their way to each other.
Anson and Tabby’s story was sweet and pure perfection. You have Anson who is the island playboy but once he meets Tabby he only has eyes for her and I loved how these two started off as friends. Tabby is strong; she didn’t want the life that her parent’s set for her so she went off on her own adventure that did lead to some heartbreak but we ultimately see her grow and find who she is and where she is meant to be with Anson’s help.
The romance and spice was a perfect balance and I am a sucker for meaningful grand gesture and what Anson does for Tabby is everything! He understood her on a deeper level and I adored that.
Overall if you are looking for a small town romance, with a large friend group & found family vibes this book is for you.
Thank you Wordsmith Publicity and Amber Kelly for the arc of this book in return for my honest opinion.
So good, what a sweet love story. I have read the other novels in this series and really enjoyed them. This novel did not disappoint. In fact I think this novel is my favorite of the series so far. I love a small town romance that has a slow burn and this novel just checked so many boxes for me. I was excited to jump back into this series and I was not disappointed. I loved Tabby's character. I loved that she realized she was tired of everyone planning out her life and what her life was going to look like and she just escapes by choosing to leave her old life behind and settling in Sandcastle Cove. I love the slow burn between Anson and Tabby. I love the way Anson recognized Tabby needed a friend first and then developed into love. I love the way Anson's friends and family welcomed Tabby into their circle. I loved watching them fall in love. Once I started reading I didn't want to put this novel down. So good! It was such a sweet love story. I loved getting to check in with characters from previous novels in the series. I can hardly wait to see what this author has coming next.
Sandcastle Cove may be a fictional place but it’s somewhere I want to visit. This cute beach town sounds like a dream. Oh and the characters there sound like the type of friends I need.
Anson has always been the fun love ‘em and leave ‘em type but if you were in his close-knit group you knew he had your back. From the first moment Anson met Tabby I knew I was going to fall in love with him.
Tabby is a free spirit woman with no plan. She’s energetic and fun and her and Anson have instant chemistry. I knew it wouldn’t take long for them to move out of the friend zone. These two fit together and I just love watching their budding relationship grow.
Amber writes the best stories. The ones that give you all the warm and fuzzy romance vibes with just the right amount of sexiness. There’s little angst in this one but it is filled with heart and emotion. I can’t wait to see where Amber takes us next.
Thank you to @authoramberkelly and @wordsmithpublicity for the advance copy in exchange for an honest review. I love the small beach town vibes of Chasing Sunsets. From the RV park to Anson’s family and friends that welcomed Tabby into their circle. Amber Kelly is brilliant at writing welcoming small towns that you wish you could visit. And her characters are not different. I enjoyed all the characters, but my favorite was Tabby. She is independent, kind, creative, and open to meeting new people and having new experiences. There’s only one issue; she has secrets. Secrets that led her to run away from her life in Boston. For the most part this was a feel-good story about two people who were attracted to each other, but neither were thinking of finding their happily ever after. Tabby was new to the town, and Anson was the first person she met she met after her boyfriend up and left her while she was sleeping. While Tabby made it clear to Anson that she could really use a friend, not a relationship it was clear they were on their way to becoming more than friends. If you are looking for a sweet, feel-good story with a grand gesture that will bring tears to your eyes you need to read Chasing Sunsets.
I loved being back to Sandcastle Cove and still can't believe that's the end of the series. I do loved Anson and Tabby's story . It was unbelievable and amazing to watch Anson fall so hard and fast for Tabby . She was the surprise he never expected. Tabby was Anson's perfect match. The carefree player Anson found his match in the free spirited runaway girl Tabby. They both changed and grow so much . Anson's growth starts when he meets Tabby. Tabby's journey started long before she met Anson. And she was so magnificent through it. Tabby was so smart and talented and creative. I was glad that she could stood up for herself and defended the way of life she wanted to live . And was pleasantly surprised when her parents finally understood her and fixed the relationship between them. Anson managed to surprise his friends and family with the change in him . Chasing Sunsets was such a sweet and heartwarming story about finding yourself and your person and going for your happily ever after.
Thanks to the author and WordSmith Publicity for the opportunity to read and review an early copy of this book.
I absolutely love every couple from this series but Tabby and Anson miiiight be the front runners for me. Tabby ran away from the life she knew in Boston because it was suffocating her. Anson is always the friend to help out but never one to settle down. When he sees Tabby for the first time trying to sell her grandmothers ring, he knows by the sadness in her eyes that he has to help.
What starts out as a friendship, at Tabby's request quickly turns to more. Neither of them could deny the attraction between them. I loved Tabby's sassy side and how creative she was. She literally made a bountiful garden out of nothing and wind chimes out of sea shells. Anson found himself drawn to Tabby and wanted to be with her all the time and I don't blame him. Her energy was infectious.
You get glimpses of the whole Sandcastle Cove which I loved. I thoroughly enjoyed everyone giving Anson crap about growing up and going from never being in a relationship to being all in. Their story was a journey about not only finding yourself but being brave enough to chase after what you deserve.
I don't know if I have ever said it but Amber Kellys books are 100% beach reads. Lay your blanket down, take you candles off, and dive into one of her books. Now that is perfection. When I first read about Anson in the first book I became curious and that feeling only grew as the series went on. I realized he needed a girl to keep him on his toes and then walked in Tabby. Tabby was exactly what Anson needed and he was what she needed. I loves watching their relationship grow. The laughs, the smiles, and the kisses was exactly what I needed to read about. I truly loved this couple. What a way to end a series Ms. Kelly. Saying goodbye to these couples made my eyes misty but reading this series and this couple was well worth it. Another amazing book by Ms. Kelly.
Anson and Tabby have my favorite Sandcastle Cove series story. ❤️ She is a bundle of optimism and creativity, who finds the good in things- She is quirky, eclectic and craves freedom- It draws him in like a moth to a flame. He is flirty, charming and craves her. He thinks she is just something else and he falls first, hard! She is stunning, independent and everything he didn’t know he wanted or needed. Their friends to lovers story is a cute one full of chemistry, tension, flirting and all our favorite Sandcastle Cove characters cheering them on. Their story is a cute one that left me wanting a longer book and not wanting to reach the end. I am a huge fan of Amber Kelly’s books and she does each trope/microtrope so well. This book has some of my favorites- age gap, found family, friends to lovers, small town…
I freaking loved Anson and Tabby's story! This is my new favorite of the series. It's funny and heartwarming, steamy and sweet.
I loved watching Anson finally fall in love! He's always been the good time guy and seeing him find someone who not only fuels his fun side but also grounds him was everything. Tabby is trying to figure out what she wants in life. She finds herself in Sandcastle Cove where she really feels at home for the first time in her life. I loved how creative and artistic she was. She's so full of life. These two wild souls find love and happiness with one another.
Seeing the other couples was so great! The girls welcome Tabby with open arms. I seriously couldn't put this down once I started reading. Anson and Tabby own my heart!
Tabby has plans for the future which do not coincide with the future that her parents want for her. Her new life with her boyfriend didn’t unfold as she expected as not only did he leave but he left her with no money. As a last resort she decides to sell the one thing that she has of value which brings Anson into her life.
Anson has his family, his friends and fun and thought that was enough. When circumstances continue to bring Tabby and him together he realizes the life they could have together is everything he didn’t know he wanted.
Tabby knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to go after it while Anson shows that it wasn’t commitment he didn’t want but that the hadn’t met the right person yet. I enjoyed seeing Tabby find the person and the place where she belonged.
This is the fifth book in this impressive series and this is Anson and Tabby’s story. Tabby escaped the life her parents had meticulously planned for her, to follow her dream of being an artist, and lands in Sandcastle Cove, which feels more like home than Boston did. Anson is a flirty, reckless, charmer, who is instantly attracted to Tabby. This is a well written story which is easy to read, and emotionally charged story, with family dynamics, friendships, strangers / friends /lovers, engaging and realistic characters, humor, witty banter, romance, and love, which leads to an entertaining, unpredictable, and sweet page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
Anson and Tabby were a cozy and enjoyable read overall, but the ending felt a bit rushed. Like things needed to quickly wrap up and be topped with a bow, which sadly left me feeling somewhat unsatisfied and disconnected. So much of these two was perfection and I love their love story, but wish the complexity of Tabby’s home life and the fallout of things coming to light had been given more space in their story. The conflict could have allowed for great character and relationship growth, instead, it all felt very swept under the rug.
I can’t believe our time in sandcastle cove has come to a close—I’ll miss these characters. Anxious to see where Amber takes us next and to meet the characters she’ll have us falling for.
If like me you've been waiting for Anson's story you won't be disappointed. I loved how these two meet and your heart just goes out to Tabby for the way she ends up needing help. Anson we have seen as a good friend throughout this series and he offers Tabby friendship when she is unsure she wants anything else but these two are magnets to each other. Watching them both fall will melt your heart and you will just love how this crew bring Tabby into the mix with them all. I am loving this series and hope we have another visit very soon.
Back in Sandcastle Cove for Anson and Tabby’s HEA. Anson is the eternal player, but he falls hard and fast for Tabby, the girl running away from the life her parents had planned for her. She was just passing through, it was never meant to be her home, until Anson became her home and her future. They start out as friends, but for both of them, there was something more from the start. But after what she’s been through, he will play by her rules. It’s a cute love story in finding love when you least expect it.
It feels like coming home! Amber Kelly's Chasing Sunsets, takes us back to Sandcastle Cover. Tabby and Anson's story is a heartfelt escape story wrapped in a small-town romance that feels as warm and comforting as a summer breeze off the coast. It's a novel about identity, courage, and what it means to find your version of home. Their story is like a breath of salty sea air—refreshing, romantic, and quietly empowering. Perfect for readers who love beachy settings, found family, and heroines who choose themselves.
4.5/5⭐️ Tabby leaves her past life behind in search of a new adventure and to find herself. She ends up at Sandcastle Cove where she meets Anson. Despite his playboy ways, he soon realises that what he has with Tabby is unlike any others.
I enjoyed seeing Tabby go through her journey of self-discovery. She is one talented lady! Anson definitely is a lady killer too with his looks, his charm and how good he is with the kids.
This was another interesting book from the series and I enjoyed seeing the previous characters appearing here.

This series has been amazing, and this book was such an enjoyable read. The plot was well written and had me hooked.mI enjoyed the development of the relationships between Tabitha and Anson, the way it progressed was beautiful, and I loved how they got to know each other and the connection was beautifully written. I enjoyed how the community embraced Tabitha and how she was determined to build her own life. This book was amazing.
I received this as an arc from Wordsmith Publicity and I’m voluntarily leaving my honest review.
This was a great small town romance. It was a well written story that really made me feel a whole range of emotions and I loved it. Tabby and Anson had a special bond that made me want to learn more about them. I liked how they started out as friends and then everything evolved from that. I really enjoyed reading their story.
What a fun, beautiful, passionate, friends to lovers story. Tabby is sweet and loving. Just trying to live her life free from rules and expectations. Anson has such a free spirit. These two meld together perfectly!
Full of sweetness, sass, passion, and love. I hung on every stunning word. I was hooked on these two from the start and I couldn't put my kindle down. An absolute must read! Five easy stars!
Another great addition to the series, Anson needed someone special and I think Tabby was that. I thought their personality matched brilliantly making it easier to read and wanting to know what funny things was happening next.
I loved catching up with previous characters from other books in series and I loved the dynamic between them all. Anson and Tabby were definitely made for each other.
Amber Kelly breaks the heart wide open. Chasing Sunsets dives deep into the choices that we make and the consequences of allowing our vulnerabilities to shine through. Anson and Tabby take the soul on a life lesson that blends haunting emotion with irresistible characters to discover poignant and unforgettable go hand in hand.
