My Princess is determined to stay as far away from me as possible. Eighteen months ago, she wanted me, but now she’s convinced I’m bad news.
The thing is, an attraction like ours doesn’t just fade, and my need for her has only grown stronger no matter how many times she offers me a scowl instead of her beautiful smile.
We’ve been playing a game of cat and mouse since the day she wore my jersey, and fortunately for her, I love the chase. I love to watch the way her body reacts to mine. I’d fall to my knees in front of her if I didn’t think she’d kick me while I’m down and unearth painful memories from my past that I’ve worked to keep hidden for so long.
I’m not the only one with secrets and a hurtful past, though. The walls she’s built around her are so high that I doubt anyone can see the real Kate. But I can; I see it all. I know what makes my girl tick and what she truly wants from life. I was just waiting for a chance to prove it.
And now that it’s here, I’m going all in to make Kate Violet Monroe fall in love with me.

I’ve never read an accidental pregnancy that left me wanting MORE! 😍
Ruth, baby, what do you put in these books?! Every single release just keeps getting better and better! In this one, we meet JJ, the goalie of the Seattle Scorpions, who has a fiery history with Kate from book 1. Their "hate" for each other is real... until that tension explodes after 18 months, leading to one very heated night 🥵
And, as many of you know... it only takes one night, and boom…Kate Monroe is pregnant, and guess who the father is? HIM! Now JJ has the perfect chance to show Kate just how much he’s into her. The way he handles the news is almost too well, and it kind of freaks Kate out! 🫣💫
This entire book gives you a swoon-worthy, HOT dual POV. JJ is the kind of guy who’ll boost your self-esteem even if you're not the one carrying his baby. On a deeper note, this book also touches on found family and how not everyone has a perfect upbringing. It did such an amazing job shedding light on these serious topics, all while giving us a boy-obsessed MMC 🥰.
I recommend this book to everyone who loves a guy who will do anything for his girl! 💖

𝗽𝗿𝗲-𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱 ꪆৎ ˚⋅ I LOVE THIS SERIES and FINALLY we will learn what their fight was from the first book.. I hope so or else... i'm throwing hands
Manhoe H. They kiss, h sees him helping another (drunk) girl , thinks he's hitting on her so she leaves
"I wanted her. But not as a one-night stand. Fuck no. She owned me from the moment she turned up at the game wearing my name and number, and she’s owned me ever since"
18 months since meeting h and he can't keep it in his pants. Sticks his dick in all available women 💀💀💀
"I don’t owe her shit, and like hell am I going to be the one to explain"
"Every woman I’ve slept with has been Kate in my head"
"As they take my dick into their mouths, all I can think about is Kate’s lips wrapped around me "
Oh my goodness! This book has officially stolen my swoony little heart!
Okay, let’s talk about JJ—this man is the ultimate book boyfriend! This guy falls HARD for Kate, and he’s totally obsessed with her in the cutest way possible. He’s been head-over-heels for so long, doing absolutely anything to make her happy. Seriously, he worships the ground she walks on, and I am 100% here for it! I am melting into a puddle just thinking about it!
Now, Kate is not just sitting pretty; she’s a fierce, sassy powerhouse. She’s independent and career-driven, and she's not afraid to give JJ a run for his money. Their banter is hilarious, and their chemistry is chef’s kiss.
I usually don’t vibe with the surprise pregnancy trope, but Ruth Stilling totally nailed it! The story hooked me, and I just had to keep reading to see what sweet and crazy thing JJ would do next.

“Every woman I’ve slept with has been Kate in my head. They could be brunette, but in my mind, they’re blonde. As they take my dick into their mouths, all I can think about is Kate’s lips wrapped around me”
I have been waiting for Kate and Jensen's book since we heard about the situation at the bar between them in book 1. I was dying to know what went down to make Kate's impression of him change so drastically. To finally learn what it was and how badly the situation had been judged was pretty laughable. I LOVED reading about these characters. I got a LITTLE frustrated with how much Kate was holding out. She had this image of the kind of man Jensen was and she was not budging on that one. I loved reading about Jensen and the type of man he actually is. He was SUCH a sweetheart to Kate. He treated her like a legit queen. I loved reading about his determination to get her to change her mind. I found myself rooting for him the entire time. Learning about Kate's background gave me good perspective on why she is the way she is. And man getting pregnant threw her a curveball- I think it made her that much more human instead of the work robot she had become. She was like a minor grump and Jensen was her knight in shining armor waiting for her to see what he could offer her. These two were HOT together.
Kate has found herself in the unthinkable situation. After fighting and denying her attraction to the man for 18 months, she can't fight it anymore. She is going to have to sleep with Jensen. Just to get him out of her system. The problem- now that they have she knows she will never feel like that with anyone else. He was EVERYTHING she had never experienced. But she reminds herself that he isn't the man she wants in her life. He uses and moves on- but then why does he text her and want to talk to try to clear the air? Why does he seem genuinely ok with the fact that she is now at his doorstep saying she is pregnant with his baby? Why has he now cleared his bedroom for her to sleep in, made her breakfast, read baby books and come to her appointments with her? He might not be who she is thinking he is. Especially when he says he wants to try things with her. He sees a future with her if only she will let him in. If only she will let her walls down and let him in. But can she get past her past? Can she let someone love her the way she deserves to be loved? Jensen has proven himself time and time again. It's her turn to show him what he means to her- hopefully she isn't too late.
Jensen is in a spot. The season is around the corner. His best friend/old teammate has retired and is getting married. And the one woman who he can't stop thinking about is now walking with him down the aisle. The woman who has him all wrong and yet he lets her think that way. In fact he provokes the thoughts more than he should. He can't help himself. But this thing between them is nuclear and he is dying to see if that will translate in real time. Fun fact- it does. They decide to go for it at the wedding. One and done- or at least that's what she says. Because what she doesn't know is he hasn't been with anyone for a minute and now that he has had her he doesn't plan on being with anyone but her. But now she is ghosting him. It's like it never happened. Then she is on his doorstep saying she is pregnant, and it's like the clouds have opened up on a rainy day. This is the in he needed. He can now show her the kind of man he truly is and how they could be great together. She slowly starts to open up and the more he starts to learn about her family, the more he understands her walls. But she still doesn't seem to understand his commitment. He is scared to walk away but knows he can't keep being what she wants them to be. So he lays it on the line- he wants everything or nothing. The question is what will her answer be?
The tension and angst between these two was intense!! Like I said, I got a little annoyed with how much Kate was pushing him away BUT when we learned more about her family life I kind of got it. Jensen was patient and encouraging and such a wonderful partner- I am so glad Kate finally saw it. Let's not forget his nickname for her- Princess :) Wonderful job on this one Ruth- now onto Jessie. I can't wait to learn about this mystery girl who has him all in a tizzy.
I definitely recommend this one if you and the series for a fun, steamy, hockey filled book with strong FMCs and the men who fall to their knees for them!

"I could make you so damn happy every single day. And when you finally drop your walls and let me in, you'll wonder what your life looked like before you had me holding you, kissing you, and warming your body each night....There are two hearts on the line here."
"You won't be only denying your heart a chance at happiness. You'll crush mine, too. There's only one place it wants to be, and that's in your hands. You're holding it in your hands. Just be careful with it, okay Princess?"
There might be spoilers so don't read if you don't wanna get spoiled.
......
So basically FMC and MMC planned to hook up and well our dear MMC was a as*hole literally. He thought since she wore his jersey, then they should f*ck each other but our FMC just wanted to play hard yk. She didn't want to be a easy lay lol. So obviously she said No. Then he got together with another girl (or so she thought) And then she hooked up (not literally) with another guy (tit for tat yk). So he thought she easily moved on from him then he started fooking any women that came to him while thinking of her yk. But he became obsessed with her. Basically this is the starting.
Note in short:
•A manwh*re MMC
•An idiot FMC (according to me)(who likes bad boys instead of good ones)
•No communication(in the starting, don't know about other times)
...... Some quotes for y'all:-
'First, he proposes we head back to his place for a night in bed, where he’s oh so convinced he’ll be the best I’ve ever had. And when I refuse to succumb to his apparent charm, he goes after someone else.'
'Is that all I was worth? A quick attempt to get me between the sheets? We’re supposed to be part of the same friend group; all he wanted was to use me and then throw me away. I might enjoy casual sex from time to time, but I want him to at least work for it. One-night stands are not my thing.'
'Tom is one of the kindest men I’ve ever met, and he deserves far more than I can offer him. He wants a wife and family, and he definitely wants to move things along with us after nine months of on-and-off dating. I keep putting the brakes on because I know that’s not what I want. Never any of those things.'
'“Nope. I think that’s finally it. It’s better this way, too. It wasn’t fair for me to keep leading him on, hoping I’d get serious. Even though I told him from the start, I don’t do serious.”'
'I don’t owe her shit, and like hell am I going to be the one to explain what happened. If she thinks I’m that kind of guy, then she clearly doesn’t know me at all. She can live in her little world where she thinks she’s always right.'
'Every woman I’ve slept with has been Kate in my head. They could be brunette, but in my mind, they’re blonde. As they take my dick into their mouths, all I can think about is Kate’s lips wrapped around me.'
♾️⭐️ 3/3🌶️ Move over Jon and Zach. Sorry boys! I thought I was obsessed with you, and here comes Jensen Jones. My man, JJ! This man is the definition of a man absolutely obsessed for his woman and I am here for it. This is Ruth's best book yet and I could not put this book down. If it wasn't for work I would have binged this book in one sitting. I have been wanting a book for JJ since we saw him in Boarded Hearts and as soon as she started teasing his book I just knew he was going to take the top spot of my favorite MMC in this series.
You want a man who has been pining for his girl and is so obsessed with her? Look no further because Jensen Jones is here baby. I loved absolutely everything about him. There is so much more to him than what he see in the first two books and aside from being obsessed with Kate, that man is the sweetest thing and just wants to show Kate that he can love her the way she deserves. They both have their own reasons for not wanting to get into relationships. Kate had her walls up from the beginning after their first encounter and she thought something happened that didn't. Slowly but surely JJ broke down those walls and we see Kate become vulnerable and allowing herself to feel and fall in love with JJ.
Both of their character arcs were absolutely amazing. I will be the first to say that the accidental pregnancy trope is not my favorite AT ALL but I have zero bad things about this book and how Ruth gave us this. Kate already struggled with being able to love and she had to work through all of those feelings while being pregnant and JJ being with her there every step of the way. He never missed an opportunity to remind her that she deserves to be treated like the Princess she is.
But let's not forget the things that came out of this mans mouth. Quite literally would get on my knees for this man. There are so many amazing things about this book but if I told you I would spoil it and what would the fun in that be? You just need to read it for yourself to see how freaking cute their HEA is.

✥ 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒐𝒐𝒌 I wanted to love this book but it was just an okay read. It was not bad but nothing special either. This was the exact same blueprint from the books before and it bored me. Kate and Jensen played cat and mouse for a long time before finally admitting their feelings for each other. I liked them and their banter was entertaining. To be honest if you read one book in this series you don’t need to read the rest. It‘s all the same and even the characters have similar characteristics. Don‘t get me wrong like I said this book is not trash and I had fun. I was entertained while reading and enjoyed it. Overall this was a good hockey romance.

Ruth did it again! I finished this book in one day because I couldn’t get JJ & Kate out of my head! I freaking loved this one so much! 🥹😭💞
The tension between JJ & Kate has been building ever since 𝑩𝒐𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒆𝒅 𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒔 so I could not wait to FINALLY get their story.
JJ was absolutely enamored by Kate from their first meeting but one night at a bar turns her off of him. She loves to hate him but they decide to call a truths for their friend’s wedding. Wedding shenanigans lead to a BIG surprise and now the two of them have to navigate their feelings and future.
I am a HUGE fan of the surprise baby trope and JJ was so solid right from the beginning in supporting Kate. This man was already obsessed with her, but he turned FERAL for her once she let him in. The spice was straight up deliciously spice! 😮💨❤️🔥 That cake scene will live rent free in my mind from now on. 🧁🤭

from womanizer to an amazing famous NHL player, JJ has got it all. except the woman he swears he is in love with; princess kate.
kate comes from a strong family of manipulators that have dictated every second of her life to the point where she is an extreme perfectionist and equally enough a cold workaholic.
these two have a complicated relationship from the start. from giving in to their desires to never talking for years because princess kate jumped to conclusions like she was jumping from cases at her law firm. it so happens that they have the same group of friends so unfortunately (for her) they have to tolerate each other but that does not stop JJ from trying to explain himself at every opportunity that presents itself.
the miscommunication between them is so strong which is truly what drove me away from liking this book so much, kate just seems petty most of the times and she is unwilling to believe anyone but her gaslighting parents. we get little interactions between her and her parents but it was enough not to like them and enough to want to punch them in the face. furthermore, i am a sucker for the enemies to lovers but it felt like the plot got no explanation and they were jumping each other’s bones at every given occasion.
don’t get me wrong, i love a good spice but this book felt like there was too much spice and too little talking which is essentially why i couldn’t wait to finish it. from womanizer to an amazing famous NHL player, JJ has got it all. except the woman he swears he is in love with; princess kate.

first ick: how the fmc’s pregnancy was handled didn’t sit right with me at all…like obviously i wasn’t expecting her to get an abortion bc that’s the whole point of the book but it was written in a way where it wasn’t even an option for her? (there were zero mentions by her, her gynae and her friends) it was like she HAD to have the baby, no questions asked
second ick: the mmc is so cringe while the fmc is so annoying/mean😭
third ick: why do i feel like the fmc was pressured into a relationship with the mmc 😭 SHE SAID GIVE HER TIME AND HE DIDNT. she 100% rushed into a relationship with him bc she felt bad and was moved by his kind gestures
fourth ick: why the hell does he call her PRINCESS out of nowhere…im all for pet names but it has to have some sort of meaning pls

RUTH STILLING HAS DONE IT AGAIN!!! I am obsessed with Jensen Jones. OMG! JJ! I can’t get enough of him! He is the definition of a man absolutely OBSESSED for his woman and I AM SOOOOO HERE FOR IT. I honestly think this is Ruth’s best book yet. I couldn’t put this down! I have been waiting for JJ’s book since we met him in Boarded Hearts and man did it not disappoint! It was EVERYTHING I needed and more.
Dead Rinker is the 3rd book in the Seattle Scorpions Series following Jenson Jones & Kate Monroe. JJ is the goalie for the Seattle Scorpions professional hockey team. Kate & JJ are in the same friend group, and they had a little something between them two one night until there was a little bit of a misunderstanding that caused her to start to hate him and look at him differently. Months go by, and they end up in a mutual friend’s wedding and the tension has never gone away. They decided on hate s*x and ends up in an accidental pregnancy. When he finds out that she is pregnant with his babies, he will do everything in this power to make her his. AND AND… THE WAY, HE SPOILS HER. OMG JJ is literally the perfect book boyfriend.
I am really starting to become a huge fan of the accidental pregnancy especially when its written SOO GOOD like this book. I can’t wait to see what Ruth has in store for the rest of this series. I LOVE IT SO MUCH.
Dead Rinker is Ruth Stilling BEST book yet! I said what I said! When I tell you I could NOT put this book, I could NOT put this book down! I loved everything about it. I wouldn't change a thing!
From the beginning of this series, I have told Ruth that I needed JJ's book and that he was going to be my favorite MMC of the series. And guess what? I was right! This man does NOT disappoint. Put a fork in me I'm cooked, this fictional man has me gagged and in a chokehold. Like I loved everything about him. And Kate? I loved her. I saw so much of myself in her and to see herself break down her walls and be vulnerable enough to fall in love with JJ, it made me weak!
Now I will say, I now a lot of people do not like the surprise pregnancy trope, but let me tell you something, Ruth perfectly executed this one! It was done so well. To see a woman like Kate not be able to accept help from anyone and then have JJ be a man who wants to treat Kate like the princess she is and do everything for her, they are truly the perfect match. And their HEA made me swoon! Not to mention everything that came out of JJ's mouth. Like every time he confessed he would wait for her, that Kate was his end game and that he loved her, my millennial knees caved. I'm in love!
Honestly, every book in this series just keeps getting better and better and I can't wait to see what Ruth has up her sleeves for the next book!
You should most definitely read this book if you like: - Hockey Romance - Accidental Pregnancy - Man Obsessed - One Sided Hate to Love - He Falls First and HARD - Rottweiler x Black Cat - Forced Proximity - Found Family - Possessive MMC
* I would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Ruth Stilling and Wordsmith Publicty for allowing me to read Dead Rinker as an ARC in exchange for my honest thoughts, opinions and review!
I tried, I did. But you can’t convince me he loves her so much but is willing to let her believe he slept someone else the night he was planning to sleep with her and all he wants or at least mentioned to her is sex. I’m tired of it, give me emotion
Ok. So. We know Kate never wanted kids, her gyno knows she never wants kids, and she doesn't even ask Kate what she wants to do about the unplanned pregnancy she is clearly freaking tf out about??? Miss me with this shit.
6 FREAKIN' STARS!!! INFINITY STARS!!!! GIVE THIS BOOK ALL OF THE STARS!!!! ⭐️
This is Ruth’s best book yet & easily one of my absolute favorite reads of the year! I don’t know what Ruth puts in her books but she always has me absolutely HOOKED from the very beginning 👏🏼 every 👏🏼 single 👏🏼 time!
JJ is the goalie for the Seattle scorpions & Kate is a big time lawyer in the city. After a misunderstanding one night, 18 months ago, Kate is determined to “hate” JJ but when the tension & attraction between them is too much to resist, they have an incredible & heated one night together that leads to the biggest surprise ever! Kate becomes pregnant with JJ’s baby and little by little that “hate” turns into something completely different 🤭
This story was absolutely steamy & swoon worthy! I loved Kate & how strong and resilient she was. She was sassy, never afraid to tell you how it is but also has the biggest heart & when she loves someone she loves & protects them fiercely. Her character arc was truly phenomenal!
And then there’s JJ. My oh my, this man was absolute perfection 😮💨 From the minute he found out Kate was pregnant, he was completely devoted & absolutely obsessed with her. He showed her in every way possible how much he wanted her, loved her & cherished her & did everything to show her they were meant to be together. Also, the mouth on this man??! Ya girl was sweatin’ 🥵 I’m down bad for Jensen “JJ” Jones 💚
This accidental pregnancy story was done incredibly well & made me even want to read more with this trope! Ruth is also an absolute genius when it comes to writing found family & this was just incredible. I cannot recommend this series enough & this is an absolute must-read & you need to add it to your TBR! Thank you to Ruth & Wordsmith publicity for the ARC 🫶🏻
Tropes: - Sports romance - Accidental pregnancy - “Hate” to love - Forced proximity - Boy obsessed - Found family - Dual POV
… I expected more. I had a little bit of trouble finding JJ obsession healthy. I felt like he constantly pushed Kate into something she was not sure of. And she was cold as ice one day and then all of a sudden is like she full reseted and be a whole new person 😆 I was also expecting Kate to be more withhold with the whole relationship giving the trauma she suffered at home. Her brother…weird to still keep in touch with your parents after how they behaved towards Kate…seriously?! Also JJ sings, cooks, plays the guitar, is super attentive, no mistakes etc…. It was a bit way too perfect for my liking….
Overall a nice story, but not the best from the series. 😁
This was supposed to be a buddy read but I couldn’t help myself and BLITZED through this. I adored it. Absolutely my favourite of the series; JJ is unmatched. I love accidental pregnancy books and this one was so good. Don’t mind me, sobbing at a child birth scene. I birthed both mine through the sun roof so maybe I’m a little jealous. I don’t know. It was really beautiful, ok.
JJ - a man obsessed. God I adored him. He was just all in, even before he was on Kate’s radar. The definition of “if he wants to, he will”. Cos man alive, he did. He was caring, kind, honest, OBSESSED, observant. Just all of the things. He was there, he showed up and I just loved him for it. He was PATIENT. The patience of this man is unmatched honestly.
Kate, I loved her (mostly). I felt for her character. She’s been through the absolute ringer as a child and teenager which does explain her behaviour and reluctance throughout this book. I was eagerly awaiting the moment she gave herself over to JJ. It was really lovely seeing her walls come down, accept Jensen’s love and know that she was allowed? And to know that she deserved it.
I thought Ruth did a really lovely job of the pregnancy. There were so many sweet, tender moments between JJ and Kate. He was so attentive to her and I ate that upppp! And the spice 😮💨😮💨😮💨 a breeding k!Nk whilst already pregnant, THANK YOU.
I adored this book; her parents can take a running jump though. Sod off. Anyway. I’m very excited for Jessie’s book. He intrigues me 👀

Jensen was so gone for Kate that first night they talked at the bar and I loved the tension at the beginning, the reasons they stayed away from each other and their eventual reunion, which was pure fireworks 💥. He was so protective and possessive of her and it was endearing and SO HOT!
I really loved Kate’s progression throughout the story as well. From her family’s backstory to the way she had to fight to let JJ in and her professional journey and the way her pregnancy played into that. I really enjoyed unraveling all of her layers after only getting pieces of her in the first 2 books of the series.
I know the accidental pregnancy trope can be polarizing, but I happen to love it and Ruth knocked it out of the park!! She really hit on the emotional aspects of pregnancy, the funny moments, the fears, and the SPICE! I know some people aren’t up for it while they’re pregnant, but JJ & Kate made pregnancy super steamy and I was so here for it. Even him admiring her stretch marks was such a small moment but meant so much.
JJ was actual perfection as a MMC, the cameos from our favorite Scorpions characters, and all the feels and spice made this such an amazing read. I highly recommend this series and especially this book if you’re into the tropes listed.
Thank you to the author and Wordsmith Publicity for the arc of Dead Rinker in exchange for my honest review!
JENSON MOTHA TRUCKIN JONES???? Who said that Queen Ruth could write an mmc this freaking good?!?!?
I literally cried at the dedication and didn’t stop crying throughout the whole book ( of laughter and of sadness) This is one of the best accidental pregnancy books I have ever read and I will take no criticism.
So basically, mans is absolutely GONE for Kate Monroe, but after a little bit of misunderstanding, he ends up on her crap list. Months go by, and they end up in a mutual friends wedding and the tension that the have always felt for each other finally snaps. Que the hot hate s*x that they have LOL
After Kate finds out she is pregnant, JJ is right there for whatever she needs, whenever she needs it. Gah I loved the way he took care of her and how he stood up for her in every way he could. Absolutely unwell about this story still hours later.
No one mind me just over here staring at the wall LOL anyways, read this book. You won’t regret it.

JJ just made his way into the top spot MMC in this series, and I thought it would be really hard to beat Jon!
I could not put this book down. JJ is the definition of obsessed with his girl! The way he stood up for Kate to her parents 🥹 Kate is a bit closed off and doesn't want to accept any help or love, and JJ just wants to treat her like a princess.
This book is full of amazing moments, JJ just wants his girl and he works hard to prove himself to Kate. And when she finally opens up and lets him in 🥹 it's beautiful. All the Jon moments are hilarious, as always! Definitely recommend this whole series 🤍
