The end of an era.
I can’t put into words the emotions that I felt while reading ‘It’s Always Been You.’ Not only for the story of Gabe and Molly, but for the end of the series that has forever changed me.
Gabe and Molly were the perfect final story in the Laws of You series. An epic second chance romance, with a dash of fake engagement, and a healthy dose of spice.
Gabe and Molly met during their freshman year at Berkeley and fell head over heels in love. They planned to spend their lives together, until tragedy struck in their senior year tearing them apart. During that time Gabe became a billionaire tech geek back in California, while Molly kicked ass at Law in Pittsburgh.
Ten years later, Gabe finds himself in Pittsburgh where he does everything in his power to win back the love of his life. The moments between Gabe and Molly, while trying to find their way back to each other, are utterly beautiful. The familiarity and the memories had my heart squeezing in my chest.
This book is so much more than romance and spice; there was heartache and tragedy & I won’t lie to you—it broke me. But it also put me back together again. The tears that I cried, were more than all the tears I cried during every movie & book combined.
The highlight of any ‘Laws of You’ book is the found family & the way Sam sprinkles in little pieces of each character into every new story. IABY made me remember exactly why I fell in love with Ben Parker 3 books ago. It made me thankful that there are Mom’s like Rachel Parker out there. And my gosh, did it make me remember the love and adoration that I have for every single character.
Sam - I can’t thank you enough for giving me these four books. I know that for years to come, I will revisit the 4 best girls & the loves of their life. I will read BOY when I need Hallie to remind me that I can’t please everyone. I will visit with Julie in WIWY when I need to be reminded that I am not alone in my mental health struggles. When I’m feeling like I’m not enough or worthy of the love I deserve, I’ll sit with Jeremy in AFY. And when I need a reminder that I should never dull my sparkle, I will visit with Molly in IABY.
To the series that stole my heart and never gave it back. Thank you. You will always be a part of me.

My heart…Samantha, I don’t think I’m ever going to recover from the emotional damage of that ending 😭. I was a sobbing mess at 2am. I have been so invested with every single character in the Laws of You Series and Gabe and Molly were no different. They were absolutely made for each other and I adored their second chance romance. I loved their banter and the undeniable chemistry readers could feel from the first moment Gabe was introduced.
Gabriel Sullivan, geez this man was my ultimate dream. He was so gone for Molly and I was here for it and truly believe he had Asher beat. Their banter was top tier. I love a good grovel and Gabe did not disappoint 😮💨. He had me at every “mine” or “my fiancé.” I’m so glad we finally got to see Molly open up about her past after getting small snippets in the other books. She easily became my favorite and helped heal a part of me that sometimes felt like I was also too much, too loud or too messy. The surprise ending, I am still not over it and don’t think I ever will be. Please make sure to check the trigger warnings and have your tissues ready!
I am so sad we are saying goodbye to the series and these characters, but am so excited to see where Samantha takes us for the Boston Hearts series. If I could be part of any fictional found family it would be this one, no hesitation! Congratulations Samantha on such an amazing debut series!
