Aspen Grove #3

If You Give a CEO a Chance

Rate this book
I, Fallon Hayes, need to stop playing pranks on my boss. Did I mention he’s my new roommate?

Being the private chef for the retired hockey player who haunts my fantasies is a bad idea. Living down the hall from him is an even worse idea, especially considering the one night stand we had ten years ago.

What happened back then was unforgettable. Proof that we are destined to hate each other.

3 reasons why I absolutely cannot fall for my boss / roommate / one-night-stand:

1. I hate him and haven’t spoken to him in a decade.
2. Poisoning your CEO client is bad for the chef business.
3. Harrison Stafford obviously doesn’t do commitment (unless it’s the demon cat we’ve adopted).

Pranking Harrison is the highlight of my day. Sure, I work for him. But bedazzling his most prized possession is just one of the secret ingredients for my innocent revenge.

One night with him again – and I, Fallon Hayes, know I’m about to get burned.

Happy publication day!
4⭐

Setting ~ NYC and Maine
Publication date ~ March 14, 2025
Est Page Count ~ 384 (35 chapters +e)
POV ~ dual 1st, present tense
Featuring ~ boss/employee, CEO, retired hockey player, professional chef, forced proximity, slow burn, roommates to lovers, enemies to lovers, second chance, no 3rd act breakup, some steamage

Content warning from the author:
Explicit sexual content, profanity, mention of a parent’s death, mention of an absentee guardian, and emotional/verbal parental abuse.

Fallon & Harrison spent a weekend together 10 years ago, but something happened to make them both angry. With flashbacks we slowly learn what went wrong all those years ago and who is really to blame for turning them into enemies.

Harrison has celiac disease, so his life could be on the line anytime he puts something in his mouth that could have been cross contaminated. Step in Fallon, a chef that specializes in creating allergy friendly foods. Both are stubborn and not interested in working together, but with Harrison’s moms meddling Fallon is hired and moved into his penthouse before he can blink an eye. It doesn’t take too long for the banter, harmless pranking and sparks to ignite.

You just know there’s going to be sexual tension up the yang when there’s forced proximity combined with enemies to lovers. A bit of a slow burn as their stubbornness takes over, but I didn’t mind it as I’m quite stubborn myself, so I get it. Their chemistry was on point and they were as sizzling together as gluten free shrimp fajitas.

Special shoutout to Walter, the lovely doorman grandfather figure, who will steal your heart. Also, I loved how we heard about Lila and Brooks from The Holiday Claus.

Overall, there was some repetitiveness, but it was a fun time with some swoony moments. I absolutely loved the bonus epilogue 10 years into the future told by Jo, the meddling mom. A perfect way to satisfy our curiosity of what’s to come with all of the characters in the series.

Series notes:
I think it’s a good idea to read the series in order, so that you don’t risk any spoilers from previous book characters as they are a tight knit family.

This was such a cute and easy read!! 😍📖 You have Harrison, the CEO of Stafford Holdings, who dedicates his entire life to his job, so much so that he hasn’t even had time to cook or date. Enter Fallon, his soon-to-be personal chef, who, GUESS WHAT?? She’s the exact woman Harrison had an amazing weekend with a long time ago… 👀🔥 Fallon needs this job, and Harrison doesn’t have a choice, so why not work together even if they both hate each other?? 😂

I had so much fun reading the banter between these two!! As readers, we get bits and pieces of that weekend that started this "feud", and tbh, the reason is such a good one AGH my heart!! 😭❤️ I definitely didn’t give it my highest remarks because even though I loved the storyline, I wasn't as hooked as I wanted to be… it took me like 50% to finally be like OH YAS NOWWW we’re getting somewhere!!! 🙌

This was another fun and cozy read in the Aspen Grove series. Another Billionaire brother finding his HEA. This time, it's a Second Chance romance, hence: If you give a CEO a Chance!

Harrison has a need for a private chef to help with his dietary needs, and Fallon ends up living with him and doing just that. However, there is tension and boiling chemistry between them. History that goes back ten years and misunderstandings that need to be corrected.

They don't act as the most mature adults around each other, but that leads to some fun pranks and a few silly moments between them. It was a very charming story over all.

I did find this one to be a bit drawn out. The misunderstanding was paper thin and made them both seem pretty childish, but specifically Fallon, because Harrison was literally dealing with a family emergency that led to their issues in the past. *shrugs* It had me rolling my eyes a few times.

On the whole, Aspen Grove was a great series and I loved spending time there. I can't wait to see what this author does next!

If You Give a CEO a Chance is an enemies-to-lovers, second chance romance between a billionaire, retired hockey player and his live-in private chef (the forced proximity)! Celiac disease rep as well for the hero who was diagnosed as an adult and the heroine is an allergy-friendly chef.

“I’ll always show up for you, trouble.”

This series has been the cutest and just so fun, delivers exactly on what the tropes promise, and the family is the best! This couple has been hinted at for so long throughout the series! Harrison is a billionaire CEO for his family’s real estate business and also an owner of a local hockey team (he’s a retired hockey player too). Fallon is an allergy-friendly private chef who starts to work for Harrison…and they have a part! They shared a weekend together 10 years ago but both have feelings over how it ended.

This one was so fun and had such great moments. The tension and mutual attraction, his meddling mom, his family group chat, he’s a workaholic and finally sees he needs a break, his family completely taking her in, Walter, Cat, their prank war, a chocolate covered strawberries moment, the forced proximity living together!

I received an ARC, all thoughts in this review are my own!

Harrison and Fallon's long-awaited romance was a great way to end the Aspen Grove series! If you've been following the series, you know the oldest Stafford brother, Harrison, has a past involving his new private chef, Fallon.

After an encounter a decade ago, they are both shocked to see each other when he finds out she's catering his brother's wedding. However, Harrison needs a private chef who specializes in allergy-friendly foods, and Fallon just happens to specialize in making gluten-free recipes. To make matters more explosive, Fallon needs a place to stay and ends up as Harrison's live-in chef.

I loved learning more about Harrison's character. He has his reasons for being the "serious" one, especially after taking over his family company at a young age. Fallon was the one person he's been able to let his guard down with. Likewise, Fallon's upbringing has made her closed off the love, except when it comes to Harrison. It's clear they are each other's "exception," and the author did a great job at showing how they could be vulnerable with each other. Of course, their chemistry was top tier, and the roommate situation just further pushed things along in that department.

There were so many other little things I loved, like Walter and "Cat" (iykyk). Between them, and saying goodbye to the rest of the Stafford family (the epilogue had me smiling big), this was a great read. I highly recommend this series! You can read this book as a standalone, but the other books. allow you to meet the other siblings and see Harrison and Fallon's tension from the beginning.

did a buddy read with olivia (@modernbooklore) because we’re both on ann’s teams so it has been really fun drawing up theories in our dms. however one question still remains: WHAT HAPPENED TO THE NOTE??? i think someone snuck in and stole it.

overall a cute read! i thought it was going to be a 3⭐️ but the last 30% bumped my rating up. i loved the fact that fallon’s dream was to open an allergy-friendly restaurant in new york. i feel like that’s very unique and honestly i don’t know why there aren’t any here? or maybe they do exist and i just haven’t come across one yet? either way, i thought it was sweet she paid homage to her mom through the restaurant. her parents would be proud of her and her grandma will forever remain a bitter old hag (that was kind of mean but she deserved it).

harrison is so supportive of everyone he loves and he’s the type of guy to love someone with his entire chest. he adores his family, which is why he gave up his hockey career to take over stafford holdings. idk that i could ask for more from harrison, he’s pretty perfect if i say so myself.

while the book was cute, i just expected more. the book fell a little flat and i wish the pranks kept going back and forth between fallon and harrison. it seems that their pranks stopped after about 3 exchanges :/ i know they’ve got more in them and it definitely would’ve been fun to see them together like that in addition to being so in love.

ok turns out i have one more thing i didn’t think of: the setting. this is supposed to take place in nyc. the brooklyn bridge and a yellow cab are on the cover and that made me think they were important in some way to their story and it’s just…not. honestly the “new york” parts didn’t even feel like new york, it’s just ✨penthouse✨. but where IS said penthouse? looking over central park? tribeca?? along the east river?? hudson yards?? dumbo??? maybe i’m being a little harsh but i’m a native new yorker 😭 i judge for accuracy whenever something takes place in nyc.

Another 𝘈𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘯 𝘎𝘳𝘰𝘷𝘦 book that completely stole my heart. I really enjoyed returning to this world, especially for 𝖧𝖺𝗋𝗋𝗂𝗌𝗈𝗇 + 𝖥𝖺𝗅𝗅𝗈𝗇. I was living for their enemies to lovers trope. All the banter and tension had me giddy over every little interaction. These two were so clearly destined to be together and when they finally gave in it was like second nature. I loved them together.

“𝘠𝘰𝘶'𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘦𝘥 𝘮𝘺 𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘥, 𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘺 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘢 𝘷𝘪𝘣𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘧𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘭𝘢𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘦𝘳, 𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘳, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘐 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘴𝘢𝘸 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨. 𝘠𝘰𝘶'𝘳𝘦 𝘮𝘺 𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘵, 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘵, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘧𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵."

𝙄𝙛 𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙂𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙖 𝘾𝙀𝙊 𝙖 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚 was entertaining and so sweet. The perfect balance of humor and heartfelt moments. I was cackling over the prank war, the appearance of demon cat, and the meddling from Johanna and Walter. My heart was overflowing with happiness when Fallon ended up surrounded by people that truly love her, and more specifically when I read the bonus epilogue. It had me in tears. It was without a doubt the most beautiful way to end this perfect series.

I was intrigued to find out who will be a match for oldest Stafford since the book 1 and what a couple Fallon and Harrison are!

This final story in Aspen Grove universe has all the best feels of a good romcom:

- Meddling mama in its finest
- Grumpy Hockey team owner MMC
- Sassy FMC
- Prank war
- Banter!!
- Dual timeline

Loved loved loved it! The book is being released on 14th of March - so don’t miss out and add to your TBR now!

Fallon and Harrison share a messy history, so when she’s hired as his personal chef, neither is happy about it. But with no better options, they agree to tolerate each other despite the lingering tension and unresolved past. As forced proximity stirs up old wounds, they uncover shocking misunderstandings that change everything. The sizzling chemistry, fiery banter, and funny pranks had me hooked. Fallon and Harrison’s journey is a must read!

I’ve been waiting for Harrison’s story since we first met him in the Aspen Grove series, and he did not disappoint. The prank wars between him and Fallon had me cry-laughing, and the tension kept me on edge the whole time. And can we talk about how he wears glasses to read?! Instant swoon. Then that hockey jersey moment? Yep, fully obsessed.

I also loved seeing Lila from Holiday Claus pop up! Her texts with Fallon were hilarious, and that friendship has been a fave of mine in this series.

The only reason this didn’t get a full 5 stars? The miscommunication dragged a little for me—it’s a second-chance romance, so I get it, but I just wanted them to talk sooner! That’s totally a personal preference, though.

Absolutely devoured this one!! Harrison & Fallon were so fun! Harrison is grumpy and Fallon is sassy, and I loved their dynamic! They’ve got a secret history and have spent the last 10 years hating each other because of it. When Fallon ends up as Harrison’s personal chef, chaos ensures, and I was LIVING for the pranks! Even with the hate and the pranks, these two still have such a connection, and I loved every second. Harrison’s got the weight of the world on his shoulders, and I loved Fallon getting him to loosen up. I loved watching Fallon find her space and to realize she’s not alone. I loved watching Harrison show up for her. I absolutely loved this one, and I’m so sad to be done with Aspen Grove!!!

I'm discovering Ann Einerson with If You Give a CEO a Chance and I have to say I'm hooked! The beginning seems a bit long but it allows us to be fully introduced to the characters and to get a real idea of each of them. Harrison is the complete opposite of Fallon and we feel a certain tension from the moment they meet. It's a cute and instructive Second Chance romance about the idea of balancing your life and exploring new things.

4.25✨

Cutest ending to the cutest series ❤️

✨Spoiler-Free✨

Harrison's book was one of my most anticipated reads of 2025, and I finally devoured it in one night! It's the third book in the Aspen Grove series, and if you know me, you know how much I love how Ann crafted this whole small town with its meddling (and big!) family, along with the supportive and loving environment it offers.

The book is filled with tension, banter, and so many adorable moments! From their first meeting after ten years at Cash and Everly's wedding to sharing a home together—every part was amazing. I absolutely love the Stafford family and the warmth they bring. Their love and the way they come together to cheer each other on and celebrate festivals is heartwarming.

Fallon is cute, funny, and a strong woman dealing with insecurities from her past. While she didn't receive the support she deserved before, everything changes the moment she reunites with Harrison.

Harrison, as grumpy as he appears, is nothing but a sweetheart beneath that tough exterior. He’s good, kind, and down-to-earth. He may not always show it, but he cares fiercely for the people around him—and that makes him the best!

Harrison and Fallon share a past, which we get glimpses of throughout the book. Their banter is top-notch, and the Stafford family remains as charming as ever. I’m genuinely sad to say goodbye to this series, but these characters will always hold a special place in my heart.

Can we start by talking about the banter in this book?!?! Oh my gosh, it's so freaking good, right from the start! I was already kicking my feet like 10% in and could not get enough of how grumpy Harrison was! I knew I was going to devour this book and I absolutely ate it up! I love how independent Fallon is and how she will go after what she wants. And the sass in her had me smiling, especially when the prank wars started! I couldn't help but love these two even more! The tension is so obvious between them and the moment they gave in had me loving it! Also, I couldn't get enough of Cat and all the comedic relief he provided, but he certainly wormed his way into everyone's hearts. And Walter...sweet sweet Walter - the grandpa we all need in our lives. Truly, everything about this book had me loving it so much!

What to expect:
-Billionaire MMC
-Private chef FMC
-Forced proximity
-Second chance
-Grumpy x sunshine

Thank you so much to Ann and her team in addition to Wordsmith Publicity for letting me read and review an ARC of this book! I truly can't get enough of our Aspen Grove family!

Harrison x Fallon's story was well worth the wait for this one !! thank you Ann and tram for this arc in exchange for an honest review... what a way to send the Aspen Grove Series!

We had little snippets of their interactions since If You Give a Billionaire a Bride, The Holiday Claus and When You Give a Lawyer a Kiss and it made you want more, make you questioned what happened and what their connection is!

🩵enemies to lovers
🩵personal chef x billionaire
🩵no third act breakup

Love the banter and the rivalry between them, I need more prank wars ! Their chemistry was just amazing from start to finish and to see how their story began was icing on the cake.💕🥵

Walter was a fabulous side character!

I love reading about characters in their 30s...it brings me comfort as they still find their match...as someone In their late 20s it's hard no to feel like I'm late to find a match.

AND ! we get a Johanna (the Matchmaking mother) chapter and omg the utter cuteness!! I need her and Mike's story! a little novella please !🙏🥰

The meddling mom is back! This time, to put her eldest son Harrison in close quarters with private chef and past lover Fallon.

If You Give a CEO a Chance is a standalone book in a series and you could technically read it on its own, but I do recommend reading the other books first. It makes the build-up more fun and a lot of text conversations make more sense.

I enjoyed the book. It was good to finally get Harrison’s story. He’s all business and he needed someone to shake up his neat little world. And Fallon is a bit of a loner and needed the warmth of a family like Harrison’s.

The book made me incredibly hungry! Fallon is a chef and she’s constantly whipping up amazing food. I recommend having some snacks ready when you dive into this one!

The only thing I didn’t love was Harrison’s pushiness at odd times. For example, forcing Fallon to switch shirts when she was wearing another hockey player’s jersey. Let the woman be! At that point she wasn’t with Harrison so it felt like a weird demand and a bit of a red flag.

All in all it was a cute story though. 3.5 stars!

Thanks Ann for the ARC!

Harrison Stafford needs a personal chef as he has celiac disease and needs a special diet. When his mother recommends Fallon Hayes he is all set to fire her until he finds out Fallon is the same woman he knows as Elizabeth. Ten years ago they had an amazing, steamy weekend together, but both have issues about it—and they are not good.

With his matchmaker mother’s insistence Harrison ends up hiring Fallon and she moves in with him. Their banter and prank wars were fun. Add in Harrison’s fun family texts, a demon cat named Cat and the sweetest doorman, Walter, and you have a wonderful, spicy romance to complete the Aspen Grove series.

Thank you to the author for an advanced readers copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This book was such a delight to read filled with banter, great tension and the most endearing and supportive family. I guess I found it even more enjoyable as the main male character is a coeliac, like myself, and the struggles one faces on a daily basis especially with eating out. This enemies to lovers, second chance workplace romance features Harrison the CEO of the family business and Fallon a chef who specialises in allergy free cooking. Harrison is just perfect! I simply adored this one. I received a complementary copy from the author.

if you give a ceo a chance by ann einerson is the last book of the aspen grove series. i was lucky enough to get an arc for an honest review and was not disappointed.

the story follows fallon hayes, a spirited private chef, who finds herself working and living with her former one-night stand, retired hockey star harrison stafford.

the playful pranks and witty banter add a lighthearted touch, while the exploration of their past adds depth to their characters. i also loved the stafford family chat. it added another feel-good dynamic to the book.

i’m not usually a big fan of the one night stand trope, but here you could feel that the weekend was more than just something physical. there might not be a third act break up, but they could have fixed the main problem much earlier.

overall, if you give a ceo a chance is a heartwarming and entertaining romance that is the perfect ending to the aspen grove series.

That’s how I felt reading and finishing this one. I can’t believe Aspen Grove and the Stafford’s has come to an end. But I’m actually so happy that Harrison and Fallon’s story was the last one, don’t ask me how or why, but it’s just fitting for their story to be last.

Also, that bonus epilogue was everything. EVERYTHING.

And just like that, the Aspen Grove era is over 😩

Ann Einerson takes us to NYC & back to Aspen Grove for the final Stafford sibling’s love story.

After a one night stand goes sideways due to a (not so little) miscommunication, Fallon and Harrison are harbouring a lot of resentment towards one another. When they finally see each other again, 10 years later, there is a whole lot of angst, sparks flying, pranks and enemies to lovers vibes.

I loved Fallon’s sassiness, her drive to succeed on her own terms and the way she didn’t let Harrison step all over her.
You could also feel her passion for cooking and knowing that this was related to her love for her mom was such a nice touch.
And her friendship with Walter? SO cute and it was the friendship I didn’t know I needed🥹

As for Harrison, I love that we finally got to learn more about the CEO behind the massive Stafford real estate company. Once his walls came down for Fallon, he spared no expense to show her how much he cared and he got oh so soft for her.

Together, there was an undeniable pull between these two and I enjoyed seeing how they found their way back to one another. Besides the details of the lost note, this felt like a realistic rendition of “right person, wrong time,” and how it can actually end up working out in the end.

I had such high expectations for this final book in the series, but the beginning started off slow and once the miscommunication was resolved, I found myself not as interested in the relationship developing as I thought I would be.

Overall, I loved the cameos, Johanna’s meddling, THAT BONUS EPILOGUE 😩 and the two character arcs but just wanted a bit more from this read!
I’m also heartbroken we won’t be seeing the Stafford siblings anymore but I am so happy I got to experience this series ♥️

✨ ARC Review ✨

Ann, I'm so in love with this series and absolutely in love with Harrison and Fallon 🥹

I’ve fallen in love with the Aspen Grove series and don't want to say goodbye - all the books have captured my heart 🥹💗 Ann knows exactly how to write books you can relate to and fall in love with – every single one was written so beautifully. You instantly feel like you're part of their characters' friendship group and their life. Moreover, Ann has a wonderful way of writing that you instantly fall in love with – I love you so much 🥹

Harrison, my grumpy hockey player - I'm so in love with him. You can't help but fall in love with him. I loved how we got to learn more about Harrison's character - how he gave up his hockey career to help his dad and become the CEO of his family business and how family always comes first to him. Or how sweet he is to his niece, who wants to play hockey cause her uncle was once a hockey player - she adores him and he will do anything to make her happy 🥹💗 Also, he is very patient with Fallon and believes in her and encourages her to follow her dreams. With Fallon, he was able to let his guard down and be more relaxed and happy.

Fallon my sweet angel, she's so precious. I loved her right from the start. I loved how she stood her ground against Harrison and even though both didn't like each other cause of their past, she took her job as a private chef very seriously - as Harrison is allergic to gluten. After her ex-hockey boyfriend broke her heart and Harrison left her, she didn't want to fall in love again. But living with Harrison and pranking him she slowly falls in love with him even though she promised she wouldn't fall in love again - even if Harrison is such a gentleman to her 🤭💗

I loved Fallon becoming friends with Walter and always bringing him something cause Walter is the sweetest ever. I loved Walter so much cause he cared deeply about Fallon and Harrison. I loved it when Fallon met her Cat and quickly fell in love with him even though he was a bit mean - but Cat fell in love with Fallon and only was mean to Harrison.

What I also loved was how Harrison only wanted Fallon to wear his jersey and she was the only girl to have ever worn it - he was in love with her the whole time 🥹💗

This has to be my favorite book of Ann cause Fallon and Harrison are everything to me 😭💗 I'm so sad that the series has come to an end - Fallon & Harrison's book was the perfect closure to this series 😭 Ann, I'm so incredibly proud of you 🥹 Thank you for making me fall in love with every single one of your books - time for a re-read soon 🤭💗

Thank you so much Ann for the ARC 🫶🏻💗

i absolutely adored every single second of this 🥹🫶🏼
from the main characters, to harrison's mom, to his celiac disease, to the banter, and the anger, and the spice, and the swooning, and the feet kicking, and the little gestures, and the pranks. my heart is so so so full and i need like 50 books written about these two babies right there!!! 🥹💓

i LOVED the celiac/food allergy representation in this! i've never read a book with this trope before and dealing with my own issues concerning celiac, this felt so freeing. it made me feel so so so understood in everything im currently feeling and going through. this helped me so much too. as someone who has family dealing with the same problems harrison and fallon's mom are continuously facing, this felt like a warm hug, someone understanding without having to explain it to them. i'm so thankful for this aspect of the story!! 🥹

I also absolutely adored fallon! she reminds me so much of willa grant from "heartless" and gabe finch from "butterfly effect", who are my absolute favorite FMCs of all time. all three are so witty, strong-headed, and always speak from their heart (and obviously do not tolerate any bs lol especially from men). fallon compliments harrison so nicely and their character development go so well together that it had me kicking my feet from their banter & pranks to their heart-to-hearts. ugh. and harrison. this man should be illegal with his sweet soul and kindness. the little things he does for fallon and how openly he talks about his feelings is truly raising the standards of the mmc's in the book community. i truly do love and adore these two with all of my heart!!! 😭😭😭💕

an absolute must-read for anyone who has felt unseen due to their food allergies, especially celiac disease, and who loves a good swoon-worthy, boy obsessed, hockey romance love story!
this couldn't have been more perfect 💕

special thanks to ann einerson for granting me an ARC of this masterpiece.
all of these thoughts are my own, and yes, i will be taking this to the grave, thank you very much! <3
