You’ll have to move at hyperspeed if you want to snag this one-of-a kind Star Wars memorabilia.
Han Solo’s blaster from Episode IV – A New Hope will soon be up for grabs via Studio Auctions and Goldin Auctions, along with a treasure trove of other famed movie and TV items. As the only fully intact blaster used by the smuggler (played by Harrison Ford) to make it through production of the first Star Wars flick, the collector’s item is expected to fetch between $2.5 million to $3 million when it goes under the hammer.
Set decorator Roger Christian was tasked with designing Solo’s weapon, with a goal of making the character appear like a cowboy—but, of course, in space. Only one other Han Solo blaster has ever made it to auction, though it was made up of parts and put back together years after filming took place; that iteration hammered down for more than $1 million. This newly discovered version has been authenticated by experts, too.

If you’re looking to add another Star Wars item to your collection, the sale’s fully animatronic R2D2 would surely fit the bill. The faux droid was the first R2D2 used at a Disney theme park when it appeared in Disneyland, and Star Wars creator George Lucas even signed off on its design. Estimated to fetch over $150,000, the piece was also made from the same mold as the original R2D2 was in A New Hope, so it’s perhaps as close as owning the real R2R2 model as you can get.
Speaking of out-of-this-world heroes, the Superman costume worn by George Reeves in the 1950s TV series Adventures of Superman will be up for grabs, with an estimate of over $200,000. As for other superhero items, the helmet worn by Star Lord (a.k.a. Chris Pratt) in the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie can also be yours; the keepsake is expected to fetch more than $75,000 at auction.

Other items in the sale include the Tin Man’s Axe from The Wizard of Oz, with an estimate of over $100,000, and Sean Connery’s sunglasses from the fourth James Bond flick, Thunderball, which is expected to fetch over $20,000. Pre-bidding for all the memorabilia starts on May 10, and the auction will take place on June 28 on the Studio Auctions website.
