Dear USET/USET SPF Family,
Many USET member Tribal Nations are experiencing concerning increases in cases and have already taken steps to reinforce long-standing public health prevention measures, as well as instituted additional measures to help reduce transmission. There is a lot of new information coming from the CDC right now, and the USET Tribal Epidemiology Center (TEC) is reviewing and assessing these new recommendations, in addition to analyzing current COVID data, so that we can provide clear guidance and recommendations as soon as possible in order to assist Tribal Leaders in protecting their communities. We expect to have detailed information available by Friday, January 14th. In the interim, here is a summary of the key changes issued by the CDC and FDA over the past few days.
Additionally, we are planning to have a COVID call next week in partnership with the IHS Nashville Area Office to discuss the many current COVID topics and actions that are causing confusion for a variety of reasons. Once we are able to identify a firm date/time, we will follow up with call details.
As always, our USET TEC staff are available to discuss any concerns, or answer any questions, you may have at usetepi@usetinc.org or Christy Duke, Tribal Epidemiology Center Program Manager at (817) 602-4447.
