Dear USET/USET SPF Family,
The Department of Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) published a Federal Register Notice to request comment on the renewal of currently approved regulations (31 CFR 1021.410) for casinos to secure and maintain individual account records. These records include the name, permanent address, and social security number of each person who deposits funds, opens an account at a casino, or receives a line of credit from a casino. The current regulations also require casinos to retain originals or copies of specified documents relating to account and transaction records.
FinCEN has identified 527 Tribal casinos that are covered by this Notice and Request for Comment. Comments are due April 18, 2022 and can be submitted to regulations.gov under Docket No. FINCEN-2022-0004 and OMB Control Number 1506-0054. For more information on the request for comment, please view the Federal Register Notice. Questions regarding this proceeding should be directed to the FinCEN Regulatory Support Section at 1 (800) 767-2825, or by emailing frc@fincen.gov.
