Hello PCPs!
I’m interrupting your day to bring you an important announcement regarding reimbursements for canvassing expenditures.
1. JCRP receives ZERO funds (as in absolutely nothing) from the Oregon Republican Party and the National Republican Party. Any and all funds we have are the result of A. The Lincoln Day Dinner fundraiser, B. A few modest local donations, and C. Sundry small fundraisers like the August garage sale. For the most part, we make enough through those efforts to keep the lights on, doors open, and stay on top of a handful of incidentals.
2. Most of our canvassers are printing their own GOTV materials out-of-pocket. For those who can’t afford to do their own printing, we have a copier down at Headquarters available for canvassing materials, so call during office hours and make arrangements to use the machine.
3. For printing that can’t be handled by our in-house printer, we’ve had some dedicated PCPs research the best print shop pricing, and they were lucky enough to score a discount at a local printing shop. Staples, Office Max and other office supply shops do not offer cost-effective printing options. Please touch base with us if you'd like the information on the cheapest print shop.
4. If you want to have a Get Out The Vote expense covered by JCRP, you need to submit the request in writing to the Executive Committee prior to making the purchase, as we can’t guarantee we’ll have the funds to approve such an expense.
5. I wish we could bankroll everything: billboards, shiny brochures, donations to our candidate’s campaigns, the best tech for canvassing, and all the printing we could dream of. Unfortunately, that’s not a reality for JCRP this election cycle…but it could be in 2024 if we all invest energy in 2023 fundraising. We are truly a grassroots organization here in Jackson County. Everything that happens at JCRP happens BY the People (us). And if we don’t make it happen, it doesn’t happen. Once we get through the General Election and JCRP’s Organizational Meeting in November, I encourage everyone to volunteer to help with the Lincoln Day Dinner fundraiser (and new fundraising endeavors). With all hands on deck, we could make this the most lucrative fundraiser to date, and if we keep that momentum going into 2024, we’ll be able to fund all sorts of Get Out The Vote expenses.
Thank you ALL for ALL you do. I have a good feeling about November 8th. Keep it up!
